Hello RIU,
37 days into flower and I notice when I flood then drain my system my PPM goes up 50-75???

does that mean it's just sucking up water and don't need 860 PPM In my res?
It was 650PPM 3 feedings ago....:wall::wall:

Should I lower Nutes???

My PH will either stay the same or drop after feeding....

Please Guide this Lost Gardener!

I did to 650....
Then it rose to 850....
I will redo the res, what PPM and PH do you suggest.
Oh the Mag def looks like it's solved by your Guidance and some Epsom salt!
1 gr per Gal from now on!
the newest leaves look very normal, still tiny but no signs of. Def!

It rose to 850? Idk man...precipitated salts? I don't really know much about hydro and all the fancy stuff....

I'm gonna tell you a secret.. as long as your cities drinking water is labeled potable it has to be within specific ranges..
I'm a lazy grower. I use fresh tap water...I use visual cues from the plant to determine what it wants..its easy to tell if your plant is saying its too acidic or basic as those deficiencies develop.. my tap water is roughly ph7 and my plants don't like it too much. They will get banding from iron lockout ect...... Distilled water starts off neutral ph7 but in contact with air it pulls co2 ions and drops to as low as 5 (can be brought back to 7 by boiling and releasing the gases)

So by adding distilled or Epson I control ph, yes every watering....I've never owned or used a ph meter or ppm....

What I'm trying to say is..plants are not a science experiment with exact parameters. You must feel the plant and it will tell you what it wants. All plants will react differently to the same water/nute solution........anyway good luck man...maybe some hydro growers will throw their input

I do soil and perlite hempy buckets

Thanks for the Wisdom Qwizo!
I follow you!
the res is clean and dry and I am going to go with 300 PPM. And 6.3 PH.
10 gallons, 10 gr Epsom salts
Honestly I have been doing much better than I expected.
I am a person with ADHD so I look for as much structure and tools to complete any job.
Organization can be very difficult for me....
I always over complicate stuff, and I forget gardening is a "higher Mind" Activity.
Ive learned All activity is learned mechanically and then internalized,
it is at that point that intuition is a good compass.
I know this from 17 years hard training in Martial Arts and meditation.
Learned, Lower Mind
Internalized, Higher Mind.
Higher mind is in touch with the subtleties of Life like plants, animals and people.
Lower mind is the over thinking, talk to yourself, drifting, rationalizing mind.
It functions very well for every need for 99.999% of people.
The very few who live life thru the Higher Mind are extra Ordinary People.
The Dalai Lama comes to mind as an enlightened being.

Ok
Clean dry resevoir, clean dry pump filter.
add 10 gal water, it sat open over night. PPM 110
add 10 gr Epsom salts melted in 1/4 cup hot water. PPM 179
add 5 tsp Tiger Bloom
add 1 tsp Big Bloom
Total PPM 365
day 36....
I guess that's my high mark for the rest of this plant, unless my resevoir starts going down in PPM....:wall::wall:

PPMs always rise in reservoirs. Evaporation and built up salts (unclean res) make rises, plus break down of nutes. Topping with fresh water and cleaning is key.

I have had to a 1 gallon fresh water at every feed today to keep my PPM Below 425
I made a minor PH adjustment.
The Epsom salts seem to have the Mag deficiency taken care of so 37 days and counting!
