so im chilling outside, smoking a jay after moving my potted plants onto my deck in the sun when hear a crack and a pop. so fearing the worst, i hop on over to find one of the lights from one of those stupid motion sensor halogen light things fell right the fuck out of its fixture and onto the cola of one of my petit out-of-ground outdoor plants, neatly breaking the fuck out of it.
needless to say, the was a little fucked up, as the picture shows.
i pulled a quick bit of sketchy plant surgery and splinted it back up.
ill make a better splint, but in the mean time, i was wondering if i should just cut if off or what. any ideas?

As long as the stem is still intact, it will be fine. It can "snap" without the it actually breaking in half, which it seems yours did. I've had this happen to mine. You did the right thing splinted it. If you notice new grow or continued grow then the branch is still being supported by the root system. Actually you will notice a lot of the energy will go to that snapped spot and the stem will have a huge bulge in that area. Some people say your buds will also be increased in that area due to the plant sending extra nutrients to the spot.

But no need to worry if it is still obviously connected.

Ya your fine. I was moving my plants that are almost done flowering. They were top heavy and supported eachother in my closet. As soon is I pulled my other ones out, the big one in back just tipped over. Folded right in half. I just staked it up and good as new.
