Put light on timer. Switch timer to 12/12 when you want to flower your photoperiod plant. It's that simple. You seem to misunderstand what an autoflower is. It's merely a day neutral plant that will flower regardless of light hours. That's done by incorporating the ruderalis subspecies into the genetics through breeding to obtain the autoflowering trait. Ruderalis is lower in THC but may contain higher levels of CBD. It doesn't have any added benefit other than the autoflowering trait which gives less control to the grower.

I'm not trying to slam autoflowers but they don't do anything more than flower on their own without the need to change light cycles. They are well suited for outdoor grows in climates that are not conducive for standard photoperiod plants. Exactly the opposite of what you think.

Unless you are growing them in a veg tent or have one tent and do staggered grows meaning plants of different ages all growing at the same time there really isn't a good reason to grow them indoors. I know people do but I'll never understand why.

As far as them being brilliant for indoor grows, they are not except for a couple reasons which I pointed out.

You grow indoors. So how are they brilliant for your environment? You control your environment indoors. I don't get the logic.

If you like autos and want to grow them because you just like them that's fine, but you can't say it's because of your indoor environment. It'd be the same for photos.

I would like the smaller plants, and to not have to worry about the 12 on 12 off. Actually Autos could have many advantages.
I have grown really good looking plants that actually produced as much weight as photoperiods. They ended up taking 4 months and ut was harsh tasting. And the quality was lacking. So far all but one variety has been lacking. But 100% of my photoperiods has been productive and high quality. I am not a auto hater, I just seem to not be in tune with them. With many many photoperiod grows being ALL GOOD. I feel very little need to waste much more time and money trying to figure out autos.
To each their own....
I have good quality lights and this one little plant was only a small thing.. to try to analyze it at this point beyond it just being an anomaly is silly.
But I have dealt with anomaly after anomaly with autos, it is always something. With photoperiods you plant the seed give it good light and water and a little nutrition and I get great medication. Like I said with autos it is always something..... seems to never end. I did not mean to start this argument.
But I tend to agree "ditch the autos"

look at what i said plz i said they r good for my enviroment not my indoor enviroment dude i live on an island in the north atlantic we dont get any given week above 70 consistantly thats what i ment by MY enviroment

You specifically gave the environment as reason for growing them INDOORS.

So which is it?

Are you saying autoflowers grow better than photoperiods in temperatures below 70?
