Plant flowering outdoors in May?

Hey guys,
So I had this very small plant outside (around 12 cm - 1month old) that I had from a small indoor grow with cfls which I quit - I kept the plant in a very small pot that's why it was so small. I have to note that the seed was a very healthy looking bagseed that a friend of mine gave me so I am not sure of the strain (It looks more indica to me). I think my friend told me that he found the seed in an amnesia bud. Anyways, I left the plant outdoors last week while I was away and when I came back with surprise I found that the plant had doubled or tripled in size and that that it had pistils (fortunately I didn't find any sacks.) I live in the mediterranean and it's only May so is it possible that the plant has started flowering? Is there any possibility that it is an autoflowering strain? What do you think? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

THe plant is likely flowering due to the shorter light cycle outdoors (shorter than your indoor grow). As the days get longer it'll likely re-veg and continue along until flowering later in the year.

Being that you are in the Mediterranean area- yes- it's possible... it could also be possible your seed was a cross from a auto-flowering strain! Never know! It MAY be pre-sexing... just keep an eye on her!

For me that's all it takes.. A reduction in hours of light to make my plants start flowering. As soon as I move my plants from 18/6 indoors to outdoors they start flowering..

every post of urs has to do with ur early flowering cycles.. lol

Mine always flower in May, as said above its likely going from the longer light period u Der light to shorter hours outdoors triggers them

yes its because its may and because u took indoor to outdoor. a way to stop it from doing that is putting the seed or clone outside during the day nd then putting it inside at night with a light on it. then slowly ween it off the light

I have had this happen more than once, even if you are no where near 12/12 lighting the sudden reduction in light makes the plants show sex.

Use it you your advantage. Pull the boys, let the rest go, they will revert to veg and then back to flower. You got maybe 120-140 days of growing left, they will recover fine and reward you with big buds.

The days start getting shorter in about 40 days by my count so i doubt it will reveg...how many of you have actually revegged a plant? It takes FOREVER and you lose about a month of growth....I doubt this plant will revert now...a lot of growers in so cal (including myself) veg indoors under 18+ and then throw outside to flower year round...if its a full sativa it might reveg , which this close to summer will only hurt you, but an 8 week indica should finish... I would light deprive if I was you and say hello to an early harvest...I'm telling you revegging you will lose a month or more of growth while it transitions. You could buy more clones and go for two harvests if you're worrying about losing growth/quantity

I know nothing about growing in CA. All I can tell you is in the midwest if you force a plant to sex now it has tons of time to get the job done, like from now till early november. A long time.

thank you guys that is some really helpful information. It's probably an indica so I will try to complete the grow and probably reveg it after that if possible. I'm a newbie. Anyways, today I found some bugs on the stem and on some other parts of the plant. I sprayed it with a bio-organic spray (it has RAPE seed extract - sounds really funny ) including the pistils and where a bud seems to be forming. My question is, will the bud still be smokeable or will I get poisoned? (the spray is flammable so I guess it has some kind of flammable ingredient that is probably toxic or whatever) Will spraying the plant with fresh water and flushing it do anything?

SO CAL grower and have some plants from seedling that sprouted from the soil on 4-10. I always though when outdoor grows mean you are at the sun s mercy.. I could move it indoors, I have a tent and 400 w but that would defeat the whole outdoor , strong sun lumens that you get.... Still cant tell the sex, although it appears she is close to telling me.

@Lacky if you grow from seed you are at the suns mercy BC it takes awhile to get sexually mature...by that time outdoors it has caught on to the increasing days and won't flower until about mid August...clones are different BC they are sexually mature and used to a constant indoor 18-6 or 24-0 schedule... from there if you throw outside they will flower during any season...I light deprive though to make sure they flower and finish... I grow only several small plants every 2-3 months
