Plant is growing super slow with miscolored leaves. Soil or Air problem?

I have a very small grow tent. I've have my pots on the ground (no air beneath them) for a while. Out of three plants, 2 seem to got sick of root rot so I chopped them. The last guy I lifted up off the ground with a metal grate under him so he has some breathing room and air flow. He is doing ok now. However he has a new problem, his leaves are curling upwards. Is this a heat intensity problem? I have a 1.5x2.5 tent. Spider farmer SF100D. Should I have lights on for less time? Should I move the plant out from under the direct spot? I measured my I am doing 18/6 now. My PAR is also like around 300 so nothing crazy.

I know something isn't right because he isn't thriving. Growth is insanely slow also.

I have two more seedlings right now that just popped so whatever this issue is I want to get it figured out asap.

Soil: Ocean forest
Fabric Pots
Nutes: Natures Pride (1 tablespoon a week)
Water pH like 6.5. Watering is done once a week.

-fan blowing directly at it
-temps should be 6-7° higher
-if you are in the habit of watering just around the plant stop doing that and water the whole pot and wait until it gets light again
-seedlings dont need a dome at all and they may die from fungal problems under a dome

these are just generally what i see in your setup that can be improved.

Yea. When I see watering around just the stalk on small plant...big pot. I cringe, all the dry medium wicks the moisture away from the plant. Bad practice imho. Plant should be sized to the pot.. .for regular consistent irrigation.

Hi all,

Here are the changes I've made since last week:

1. I now water the entire potted plant
2. I now water every 2-3 days instead of once per week (my fear was over watering which is why I did that)
3. Added another small light to my tent (purple light) which should provide some more PAR and also raise temp a bit. (My PAR currently on the plant is like 400, with added light its 430)
4. Moved fan to point up and also it draws air in from the vent so it's pushing in clean air.

My plant is still growing a bit slow, and the new growth appears to be twisted or weird also. Could it be nutrient lockout? Or is it a soil thing? Air/temp/RH issue?

Also ignore what the RH is on the monitor, the tent was open for like 10 minutes as I was installing other light.

when your plant is already struggling its not a great idea to give it more light. it would be wise to find a way to increase temps without adding more light. then when it starts growing well you can give more light.

Tell use about your nutrients?
You said one tablespoon a week.

Is this a powder added to your water?
A liquid?

Edit, looks like a dry ammendment, probably the lack of proper watering has caused a problem.

If you follow the advice so far it should start improving, won't be instant

I use natures pride, and the bag says one tablespoon per gallon of soil, every 7-10 days.

Even doing 2 tablespoons for my 2 gallon pots, once a week seemed to be a lot! Maybe should I cut it all out all together? I was told my soil runs a bit hot (ocean forest)

Regardless i think I will start watering more often (every 2-3 days) still.

Could the magnesium deficiency be caused by the root burn from under watering or from over fertilizing?

I think you've hit on part of the issue there.

The ocean forest on its own should carry your plant along fine without adding anything.

Though I couldn't say how long , as I'm not a soil grower.

Have you been top dressing since day 1 ?

Various deficiencies or toxicities can come from over fertilisation.. not convinced its magnesium though.
