Plant Problem 9 Weeks In

Yesterday I watered about 1 gallon in soil doing an organic run. They're 3 gallon pots. Were very heavy yesterday after. Much lighter today. Top is dry. A knuckle deep I feel it moist. Should I water again today? I had some deficiency due to watering to a 20 to 25% runoff. I added nuts 3 days ago. It doesn't seem to be improving. I'm in the 9th week of the auto grow. Top dressing with Dr Earth.

Any thoughts?

What nutes did you add and how much? It is likely an issue if you are using both Dr. Earth as a topdress and separate nutrients in a bottle. Each takes some time to work...meaning what you see is not what you did yesterday (unless catastrophic), it is from several days or even a week or more if topdressed.

They have a long way to go. When was the last topdress and how much, and what nutes and how much did you just feed yesterday?

3 days ago using Dr Earth 394. I used 6 tablespoons as directed and about the same with worm castings. No others nuts besides Dr Earth and castings

Well you did better than me lol. I just finished week 3 of flower, first time organic and I'm already in dire straight as my pot choice (10L) was terrible and I didn't follow any top dress routine. I'll be going a seven gal pot next time for sure.

My ph is always 6.3 to 6.4
have you got access to liquid activated organic compost locally? Most are heavier in N without overloading P or K. Does well in organic potting mixes and will tie the plant over until top dress is available and worked its way through the medium. Leaves already at the stage of late yelowing or necrosis will not repair themselves though.

I'd have to call around. Is there a brand that's better than others? I really want to stay away from synthetics.

Sorry, I'm in Aus so I don't know whats out there in your neck of the woods. What I use is basically a compost tea pre prepared by a local nursery/farm. It is a 12:2:5 and works well when Nitrogen is lacking but PK is adequate.

I wouldn’t ph my water at all the soil should be built to buffer that. Also what are you top dressing with as most top dressing aren’t broke down to be accessible by the plant for a while. That ph solution is poison for organic grows you have to use more natural ph solution if you ph at all. They look hungry but too late to add in new nitrogen. Have you tried using some Epsom salts in your water. Is the yellowing spreading or just on those giant fan leaves as that’s okay and somewhat normal as they are older leaves.

It's spreading. Currently using Dr Earth. It worked perfectly until I screwed up. I've never tried Epsom salt. I flushed the hell out of them thinking I had to with a ppm at 18 to 1900. Boy was I wrong. They were going great until then. No issues whatsoever. I need to fix this problem. I just top dressed like 4 days ago. Watered 3 times since. They were getting dry.

Best course of action now?

Yeah man you flushed all the nutes away I would add in some epsom salt to my next water do a light watering so that you don’t have excessive runoff and see how they bounce back the Epsom salts will help make nutrients available and stabilize your soil. With flushing and using that ph continuously you probly made your soil toxic or rinsed out the all the microbes and valuable food

When you describe that you are in week 3, the peak or just past peak of stretch, and it looks like this, it is simply needing more food. While you see N missing, it's not always so simple when the plant wants to keep eating a full meal each time. I would increase feed. If you topdress only you might want to bottle feed while waiting on it to work. Week 3 is not too late to add N, but I would NOT add an unbalanced high N feed like 12 2 2 or the like. 4 4 4 is fine, any variation of it.

Did you feed bottled nutrients too in the last 10 days? You wrote "... I added nuts 3 days ago..." in post 1. If topdress + nute feed that is likely the issue.
