There are all kinds of small plants that you can put on a desk to inhance appearance and calm the nerves.
1. Cactus garden.
You can get these at just about any flower shop. Obviously they wont need too much attention/water. Should be easy to do.
2. Aloe vera
Again, this is like the cactus garden. Not too much water or other maintenance. I keep aloe around because I am prone to buring myself while cooking, so having a plant that is as useful as well as visually appealing is always good. Aloe plants can get big though.
3. Herb garden
Usually don't need too much sunlight, but they will need a bit more water than the cactus garden. However the payoff is that you get fresh, home-grown garnish/flavoring to add to your meals!
4. Salvia divinorum
I've read that it can be grown as a house plant and am actually thinking of trying to grow some myself. I don't have too much info on growing it, so youd need to do some more research on this.
