Plant size problem

There is nothing actually wrong with my plant at the moment - i'm worried about in a few more weeks..

At the moment I have an indoor grow which is 'secluded' so that other people cannot see it. The plants are around 6 inches tall at the moment with some number of leaves, about 12 I think. They're in small plant pots which have a circumference of about the size of a hand (well my hand..). The strain is called ' Hawaiian Maui Wowie Skunk ' What i'm worried about is -

1.) If I leave them in these pots, is this going to affect their growing and/or kill them because of root space?

2.) How tall exactly will these plants be when they are around 8-10 weeks in (or when they have been flowering for a few weeks).

The reason i'm worried is because if they grow another say, 6-10 inches, they're going to be visible, very visible. Which is what I do not want.

you will still probably need bigger pots unless you want to water all the time. You should look up LST, topping and FIM to learn how to keep your plants small and bushy. The more light you put down the bushier they will stay, otherwise they stretch towards the light. If they can only grow another 6-10 inches, you'll have to LST them, top them and probably flower now or in the near future. If you are trying to grow plants that are 12" or less at harvest, you're going to have to very aggressively LST and/or top them. Good luck, you'll need it.

edit: actually if you are trying for 12" plants you may not need bigger pots....but you're gonna have to do the other stuff, LST, top etc.

One more question though, if I didn't LST them and simply let them grow for say, 2 more months, how tall would they be? I'm thinking moving them may be easier.

Well Im def not an expert on growing, but from what I read and understand, plants usually double in size when they flower.

Also, how do I know if my roots become too big for the pot?

P.S, forgot to ask, a friend planted his seed (of the same strain) a week after me, but his leaves are now already 2 maybe 3 times bigger than mine, neither of us can work out why this has happened, we're both using the same growing room conditions (although the plants are not in the same room), the only difference is he is using bottled water bought from the store (volvic water to be specific) and i'm using tap water left to cool to room temerature. Mine may be getting a few more hours of light, i'm not certain though.

You can always take a peek at the rootball to see how it's doing. Just remove the plant a little bit like you were going to transplant it, see how rootbound it is, and slide it right back in.

Your plant will also stop growing as fast and may show signs of deficiency. If you keep them in the same pots their whole life I would recommend flushing them at least once during their life to remove acid salts that will build up.

you will have to LST to keep em small to the size as where you want them. also sounds like they are outside. they will get big if they are. only option then is LST. sorry bro, i bet you didnt want to hear that. but not a bad thing

Through the night me and a friend thought of some solutions to stop people seeing the plants once they get tall, so I may not have to try LST thankfully . Just to clarify, the plants are inside, not outside.

The size of your plant really depends on the size of the pot you put it in. the bigger the pot, the bigger the plant, Iam having a similar issue way later in the stage of the grow, I have 4 growing in a 15 gallon pot, and two are over 6 Feet tall 2 weeks into flowering, and Iam growing on my balcony, starting to get concerned people are going to start noticing them, and to boot, the top of the plants are not getting direct sunlight for very long anymore, I am probably going to buy tomato cage, and attempt an LST with my already THICK 6 foot tall plants.

Better you start the LST at that stage then later on when it becomes more difficult to bend the plant.

Ah, if you are growing these inside, then how are people going to see them? Do you have them growing near a window using the sunlight? If so, you know that you must give them direct sunlight, if it goes through the window glass it will not work correctly and your grow will most likely not succeed as you would like.

If you are using artificial lights, what kind of lights are you using and how far from the plant are they? It is hard to tell from the angle you are holding the pot in the picture, but it looks like the seedling is bending a little toward the side like it is looking for more light.

Lastly, since you are trying to hide these, you should know that when they start budding out they are going to smell, so if there are people inside the house or whatever you're growing in, they will probably start to be able to smell it even if they can't see it.
