"How long do they stay in veg?"
Honestly I dont really keep track they are ready for flower at around 4ft, its longer than the typical 1 month but for the number of plants I'm allowed (which is a lot) its not a big deal because I have around 2 waves in the grow tent at all times. Since I usually shoot to pull 2 plants every few weeks there are so many start times its difficult to track. Basically they go in when they are ready and come out when they are done.
"With my experience on last 2 plants they didnt get significant bigger in size after a certain point."
Some strains will slow down tremendously, also if you let them get root bound they will also slow down for weeks before they kick back in. However I have had plants that would easily have grown into the top of my veg tent had I let them.
"I have same size tent to work with. How many times do you top them?"
Usually I LST (occasionally I will top), but again its strain dependent, if I have a sativa dominant strain I'm in there probably 2-4 times. With an indica maybe 0-1 times. If I know the strain will run I'll be on it from the time its a foot tall. Otherwise it ends up being an exercise in keeping it out of my veg lights (8 light T5 badboy). I've had some I had to literally cut in 1/2 to keep them out of the light.
I'll attach a few pics so you know I'm not full of shit. The opening on my tent is about 6 foot, cool tubes are near the top around 7ft or so. Plant on the right is royal haze(the crispness is because it keeps growing into my light, you can see the string tieing it to the side of the tent), back is a Thai, left(and closeup) is destroyer (which should be ready in a couple weeks). Its hard to show you scale because my camera really have a wide enough lens to get the whole plant in the picture. The Thai in the pic has been in for 2 weeks, to give you an idea of size at flower (take off about 1.5 to 2 ft). the 2 budding plants will yield around 10oz (destroyer will probably go more).
