Plant stems unreasonably weak

About the second week I noticed all of my plants completely fell over.
The plants are sativa dominate and very tall.
I might have remedied the problem by covering a large portion of the stem in cloning solution and burying them deep in potting soil. They are standing up straight now but the stems are still very long and weak.
Any other ideas?

Adding sand to the soil? Sand has silica which can be used by the plant to strengthen stalk, branches and stems.

Two words....more light. What are ya running, and how close to the plants?

Cal- mag - silca potassium are the real biulding blocks of the stem also training id throw up a oscolating fan make the stem break and rebuild stronger

ill try the silica trick first
And im sticking to HID lights
Im using 2 250 watt MH lights
7 1/2 inches from the top of the plants i moved them down from 10 because i thought more light as well

Oh and i do the super noding technique so they build stronger stems but the lack of sand may not be building them back as strong

Wow, under two 250 MH's, and they're still stretching? Were they stretched before you put them under those lights? I know, dumb question, but I have to ask.lol

I agree with those guys above, about the silica and potassium being essential for strong stem growth, but, it seems to be something more than that. Hmm....

How's your ventilation? A steady breeze causes the stem to flex and build itself up stronger.

well they were a sad group of plants to start with. a friend started them in outdoor low light conditions, so they stretched for light to begin with...

dual regular household fans. air is coming from outdoor as well

Ahh, that explains it. Well, sounds like you are on track to getting them built back up to where they should be, 'cause those MH's should damn near stop them in their tracks, and force them to fill out. Awesome.

If they haven't been transplanted yet, just plant them up to the first set of leaves in good potting media. The lights should be strong enough for good growing. If they continue to stretch it is too hot or feeding too much nitrogen.

hygrozyme, is a supplement which helps with root growth and health. i've HEARD (never tested) but it makes sense, that the hygrozymes help the root health which helps the strengthening of the stem as if you were "super cropping" by crunching the stem to have it grow back thinker and stronger to increase the ease of flow of nutes.

I have a question in regard to mt heat its over 90 for the 3rd straight day

I cant help on question cause in still learning my self but al my question are on the height the light needs to be from the plant and the temp problem with no money to by ac or de humidfier yet hekp

^Is it possible to have a regular fan blowing the hot air out of your growroom, closet, etc...... That'll drop the temp, if it's an option.
