This is my second attempt to plant a germinated seed. I use a strophome cup with holes on all sides and bottom I water it about 2-3 times a day with a squirt bottle. I water it when it seems to dry to the touch about 1/4" of an inch down. I only give it 2 or 3 sprays each time is this correct? also, I planted the seed just as it cracked open the white shoot was exposed but not out of the shell. How long should it be untill I see some results.

Your seed is drying out...you need to actually water the soil after you plant it. Plant more than 1 seed too, They dont all sprout.

Make sure the taproot is pointed down, Dont bury it too deep.

And dont drown the seedling. It may take a couple days to sprout.

I would say firstly "don't give up" because anything worth while takes time and research. Perhaps read more to reduce your frustration level. Here's what my friend Pedro does for his seeds.

1. Small sealable container - could be Glad / tupperware / ziplock baggie
2. Paper towel - bounty etc
3. Soak paper towel and drain off any excess water
4. Place seeds between paper towel and dampen top if not completely damp yet.
5. Place in a warm place that has temperatures between 75 - 85F or 24 - 29Celsius
6. Check and spray dampen daily as needed until tap root appears to be about 0----- long
7. Get small cups or containers and fill with potting mix of your preference ( Pedro uses 50% potting mix 50% perlite)
8. Take a pencil and making sure its sharp ( :P) poke the pencil into the soil until it's about a 1/4 - 1/2 inch into the soil. Gently cover the top of the seed with a little soil (read don't pack down hard but just cover)
9. Carefully ( Pedro uses tweezers) take see and drop into hole with tap root facing downwards.
10. Thoroughly water soil until water coming out of bottom of container then...
11. Spritz or add a few tablespoons of PH balanced water every morning and night(read as long as its always damp / moist)until seedling pushes through soil

Done and done ( I'm sure someone has already told you this though )

Yeah, it sounds like they are germ'ed fine. Just water them, not spray every 3 hours. Water so all the soil is moist, You have drainage holes in the cup so thats good, it wont drowned, Yeah do what ^ said, put some plastic wrap over the cup so the soil wont dry out.

To answer your question, no you dont want it drying out this young, the seedling needs moisture to properly sprout, once she breaks through, remove the plastic wrap and then water when the soil is dry (every other day usually depending on medium)

ok i put a sandwich baggy over the cup and put a few holes in the bag to have some air flow and i watered them it seemed dry at the top last time i watered it was like 7 or 8 hours ago. when i looked at it after a while the bag seemed to get some dew or moisture on the inside of the bag and cup is this a good thing?

Did I say put a hole in the bag? Dude no hole in the baggy just slip it over the top you want a green house effect so the soil stays moist not soaking wet.WTF? Are you reading these reply's stoned or what?
