Planting straight outside

Will I yield less if I plant straight outside instead of starting inside? It's just I would have to be stealthy indoors and can't afford a cupboard grow.

Would I really get a lot less starting outside?

You do what you have to do. Just make sure that if you start outdoors, that you don't plant until the threat of a night frost is over. It would suck to start from seed and plant too early. Other than that, you may miss out on some veg time, and your plants will be outside when they are most vulnerable...

You also gotta remember that animals love to munch on tender young plants. If you can't veg them indoors, your are gonna have to find some way to deter them.
