Living in Ireland and doing my first outdoor grow in a greenhouse was wondering when should I have my seeds in the soil and ready to go. I'm going to be growing Shaman by Dutch passion it's an outdoors strain (non auto) just wondering when is a good time to start?

Mid june early july , if you only intend to grow the seeds with out cloning you should have them in soil by mid april,, if you want to clone off of these seeds you need to germinate in march

It's safe to put them out when you have 14 hours of daylight. You can use a green house before that, just adding enough light early and late to make 14 hour days. You don't have to add a ton of light, just enough to make them think it's spring. And soon it will be.

Ya that's what I was thinking my original plan was to germinate at the start of April and have them planted by the middle of April. Should I veg under a light indoors for the first few weeks or just have them in the poly tunnel from start to finish?

You can use the sun during the day and just use lights early and late, and that will save you some money. That is if you can keep the temp up where it needs to be. If you do go into the tunnel with lights, make sure you are not blocking the sun with them. You don't really need them to be bright enough for real growing, just bright enough to keep them from going into flower. I've heard of folks using a few CFL's in greenhouse grows to keep the photo cycles in the right range. {13 1/2 hours of sun is the real trigger, but I would advise 14 to be on the safe side.

How many plants are you talking about? If it's just a few, it might be easier to keep them inside during Veg.

Was thinking about 20 since I'm only going to get a chance to do one grow this year, the poly tunnel is 20ft in length,10ft wide and 6.6ft high and I wasn't planning on useing any lights if it was possible but it's not looking that way is it?

I was lookin forward to seeing that thread through.. Dude was a hard working MFer ..but that roof was going to collapse with a heavy wet snow n that greenhouse was going to fill up with water in spring thaw.
