nope I’m not messing around with transplanting or anything like that on a first grow; I’ll fuck it up knowing my luck and I don’t have the relevant nutrients to support it. I figured as these plants are autos, and supposedly hardy to all conditions - I’m just going to keep going. once the plants grow a bit taller I might top up the pots with more soil

Not true. Have u used the soil fastfreddie?
It’s got excellent drainage and is hard to over water.

Your whole issue stemmed from no fan and fast growing plants. So you’re doing something right lol

I use the Plant magic range atm and it’s great.

I’ve had a fan from day one.. just where I had it positioned it wasn’t necessarily blowing directly onto the plants, I’ve repositioned the fan. There’s more of a breeze on the plants. I will probably end up buying another fan when they get a bit bigger probably weeks 3 onwards. This is week 2.

I read good things about the plant magic range; I’m using the old timers nutes too grow and bloom, the plants have already had 1ml of grow and are showing no signs of nute burn or anything. I guess I should have added extra perlite ?

Ah ok - just not enough air on them. It’s a bit of an art - you want an occasional wiggle on them.

I used old timers too. It’s high in N so be careful and learn to read for too much N (dark leaves, then clawing).

No perlite as it’s got it’s own organic aeration photocell stuff and doesn’t need it.

Be aware though - this range has produced the most smelliest plants I’ve ever smelt. And I’ve read others saying the same.

that’s amazing!!!!! I’m not bothered by smelly plants - I have carbon filters, air extraction fans and ducts plus nobody within reason will come close enough to where they are to smell them.

can I ask how much soil you used per pot for the plant? I’m using 12L pots and I’m wondering if I should have used bigger for the next grow.

I’ll honestly be so happy if mine end up looking like that. I look at mine and I just think, day 10, shouldn’t they be bigger, keep thinking I’m messing up ahahaha

Yeah, mine does that too, that means you did a good job of not compacting it. What I do next is add more soil, it then supports the weight. It looks good other than the flimsy stem
 
You could also just roll the sides of the pot down, but that needs to be done as the soil settles....yet another reason to love fabric pots

What... taking a sawzall to a plastic pot to reduce it's height while it contains a growing plant doesn't appeal to you? ;)

I still have about 35L of spare soil, I could add to it, but currently the plants aren’t tall enough - if I added soil it would swap the plant now. Needs a bit more height

I sterilize and re-use my plastic pots so no lol

Have not found a way to re-use fabric pots yet, not sure how i'd sterilize and dry the pot while keeping it in good enough condition to use again instead of just buying new...they are super cheap. Plastic is just super easy to clean

I can picture somebody stoned cutting there pot down and they cut right through the plant base at the same time "TIMBER!!!!"

Good job - cause they are very smelly - you’ll see.

Are they autos? If so I re-pot my autos just the once. Those plants are all in 12l pots but started in 1l air pots.

Here’s one which was about 12ish days from germination. Then repotted and the last photo is only a week after transplant.

If timed/done correctly transplanting autos doesn’t hinder growth at all. In fact I think they get excited by all the extra space and have a growth spurt.

You must transplant before any signs of flowering as that will stunt the plant. Around the 10-15 day mark is good to transplant.

I am growing autos lol doesn’t help I’ve been told they’re stinky as it is - I’ve got 5x fastbuds Girl Scout cookies auto and 1x Barneys Farm Glue Gelato Auto.

I’ll look to transplant for future grows which I have plentyyy more planned. I’d just want some proper root support nutrients - any you could recommend? Do you just hold the cup upside down to release the soil and then repot into fresh soil? Do you need to add anything prior to potting which could help the roots develop? I hear the number one problem with transplanting is shocked roots ?

as a first time grower I get nervous and then make silly mistakes because I’m not 100% experienced lol nutrients still scare me! I still don’t know if I should be lowering my water Ph before or after I add nutrients ahaha and have been lowering it before adding the nutrients so I’ve probably screwed the first feed up already lol

Yes, always add all your stuff then ph your water as the last thing you do. Why ph the water to add something that could change the ph by a few points? Add some Great White in there to help too

The first plants were Malawi (ace seeds) fruit punch and blue cheese. Malawi has been a dream to grow. The other transplanting pics are of a northern lights auto.

I use the plant magic range and have had super results so far. Their root stimulant is one is recommend.

Also they have a bio-silicon product which they say to use up until early-mid flower. This is actually highly alkaline and balances the feed so you don’t need to adjust ph.. Id highly recommend this because without it I was running into low pH issues.

Yeah u basically fill a new pot and water it in. Then cut a hole about an inch and a half wider than the pot into it so it’s easier to fit in. Then slowly fill soil in around but lightly pressing it down with the tips of your fingers. Then repeat until soil is same level then water the transplanted plant in. So ideally you want to do it on a watering day for theplants that’s being transplanted.

Again I followed plant magics grow schedule and added potting granules (which are like fungus stuff) when I potted up. Alone with 1 does of veg boost. That’s when she went bananas.

As I said get the plant magic bio silicon and you won’t have to worry about pH
