Plants getting way to close to light, and no room to raise it!

So like the thread title says, I have a 4x4x6.5 tent and the light is pulled all the way up. My girls were vegged for 3-4 months and topped probably somewhere around 10 times due to not having funds to buy my flower light. So to say the least these things are monsters, and my plant count is only at 6 which i love. Anyways, the plants have been tied down over and over again to bamboo, and were topped numerous times to keep them shorter and bushier. I dont know what to do short of somehow hanging the light from the ceiling and getting another 6 inches or so to raise the light. I really am out of ideas at this point. What should I do? I wish i could use bushmaster or something but I dont want to risk my health like that. Ideas?

Flip the switch to 12/12.... How big did you think they were going to get when you put up the gro room? That's right, they were going to touch the lights...
Now you are there....
Pull your branches down, or what else... Clone the tops...
Nice problem to have wouldn't you say ?

...Agreed.

My brainstorm:
Id bend them as much as possible to prep for the growth for flowering..
Trim off insides and thin them out if the lower ones are not getting much light..
Totally remove the bottom parts, also if not much light is hittin them...

Start flowering a few days or so after any mass prunin,

Just my thoughts of the moment...
but you prb wanna act pretty soooon.

Best of luck man
I just started an new crop after some time.. so im a tad rusty. but yea... IMO

oh could you tie down all the tops to the outside perimeter, thus opening up the middle foliage? That would make for less prunin at least

If you havent started flowering yet you might be SOL,cause most plants at least double in height during the first 3 weeks of 12/12.

You mentioned tying to the ceiling,I havent grown in a tent before but if I remember theres a bar going across the top. You could probably take the hood off the chain and use a coathanger or some sort of sturdy twine or wire to go through the holes where the hooks were and fasten it to the bar.

Good luck,I know height restrictions are tough to deal with when the plants just dont wanna stop

If you're still in veg then supercrop, top, lst. Give a few days to a week for recovery and then flip that bitch. Pics would help.

yup. CUt that tent roof up during the daylight hours.raise as needed.. and get something to fill in the gaps btw the light and the top of tent.
CHeaply speaking, tin foil, eehhh could work... or cardboard and paint it on the inside..

Cut the plant up before you ever cut the tent roof up...

The plant can regrow, the tent can't.

Tin foil and cardboard? :(

Indoors, if a plant gets too tall there's a couple options, bend it over, cut the branches, or even lay the plant on its side with horizontal strings supporting everything. A combination of low stress training and pruning will lead to nice short bushy plants, regardless of age.

drill hole in the top ring around your pot, and bend over and tie your branches down in a twirling design, and when you flip, they will continue to grow vertical.
Kinda like this.
I had to tie down ALL my branches when she did the stretch, but managed to get everything pretty close to the same height, even the 2 main from when I topped.View attachment 2488229

This is a very frustrating question youve given us. If theres no pictures to help RIU solve the problem your just going to get the answers youve already thought of. If you dont want top stretch you could always run bare bulb vertically and turn your plants two or three times a day with some supplemental lighting surounding them. Thats all i can come up with to avoid vertical stretch without a picture. Good luck. :)

Wrong basically. Plants reach a maximum height for their strain. The legendary "stretch" is exaggerated when you veg for just 2-3 weeks and then flip to 12/12. Since the plant is still not max height it then works like mad to get to that height like a human maturing. If you veg them 3 months and they reach the 60 CM advertised by the breeder they can sure stretch longer - but most likely any stretch will be very small.

I say you should clone the top branches of 6 inches just to bring down the height a bit then slap them bitches into flowering.

Clone the top and lose your best bud. Instead bend that thing over gently until you feel it "snap" and then leave it laying sideways. A callous will form within two days holding it that way. Support it if you like until that callous forms if it is heavy and keels over too far. Doing that exposes all those side buds at the top to full light and they will keep kicking ass. Clone the top and it will finish at the same time as if it were on the plant still - if it survives the attempt.

I am with cloning. You won't loose your best bud. You give the bottom half a couple weeks to recover and start growth, while at the same time tieing it down to keep everything even. Then flower. Then you have clones also and not burning your buds. Maybe even make a mother plant!

they have been flowering for 1 and a half weeks already, its a 1000 w hps. I raised the light another 6 inches by removing the rope ratchet light hangers and hanging it directly from the bars on the tent running accross the top. I believe i have enough room now with raising the light combined with lots of bamboo steaks and twist ties. thanks for the input, and yes I have done this plenty of times before, sometimes the circumstances arent right to get shit together. I usually shared a 2000w room with my friend that I no longer am very close with and had to figure shit out for myself after this last run. Took me a minute to get together close to a grand ya know? Anyways, i have all the clones that i need already :)
