hey guys, this is my first grow (the big one was my first) but they have serious spidermite infestation i cant get anything to kill them! ive tried alot, but now, besides the holes in my leaves, the leaves are now turning yellow. 2 leaves are soo yellow there is noo green. i fed it some nutes recently, i gave it nutes water nutes water then went water water water, and im guessing its a nitrogen deficiency, because the rest of the plant looks good healthy light green (looking past the spidermite webs). the big plant is so sticky i touched it to get a web and the damn bud tryed taking my finger with it i got stuck lol. :leaf:

If your running Co2, you can bump the PPM to something (I think its around 2500ppm?) for an hour and that'll kill off all the bugs. Do a search for the exact ppm and how long before you follow what I think I remember, but the method itself is sound. :) Should nip em in the ass and you win!

If you arent running CO2, you could buy like 10 of those Co2 pads to fume the room up the same way.

Good luck.....

they sit outside in pots thats all. so i dont think it will even be worth wiping them all out for them to just come right back.

I had spider mites once and they got rally really bad i went to the hydro store and bought some shit called like spider might knockout or something like that. Make sure if you buy it you spray that shit on when the lights go off or in your case the sun starts to go down. If you spray it on and give it heat and direct sunlight it will burn the shit out of your plants. Anyway after the first spray like 95% of those bitches died. They were all gone within 2 weeks and thats including all their babies. I never saw them again. I had them for like 3-4 weeks prior to getting this and tried evreything and nothing worked. There was literally probly 10,000 or more spider mites between my 7 plants. This spray kicked ass though i highly suggest it.

Unless you have removed all the damaged leaves from the S.Mites the injury looks minimal. In fact, I don't really see evidence of a major Mite infestation at all although you mentioned that you had removed a web is a indicator of a infestation. Like others have mentioned, Mites love a hot, sunny evironment and the white siding in the photos is reflecting a lot of heat. You might try moving them to a little different location with adequate sunlight and less heat. Neem oil is very effective but relatively short-lived. Since S. Mites have an extremely fast reproductive system (as little as 4 days in some species) you might also try more frequent treatment or even a rotation of organic pesticides to help prevent resistance. Treat in the early morning hours when it is cooler to limit phytotoxic response (burning).

bump.. still is not looking healthy. im getting some neem oil to take care of the mites, but i would like to bring these back. im thinkign about cutting the big one down, because i heard that if you dont harvest when needed, the plants will start to absorb thc back into the plant??

I still don't see what would typically be described as spider mite injury. Lower leaves being yellow is normal as the plant matures and unlikely to affect potency and/or bud yield. Mite damage looks more like "salt and pepper" or strippling of the leaves as they extract chlorophyll from the plant. Sweet looking bud(s) in the "can you see the webs" image but looks more a common garden spider web (beneficial). Spider Mite webs are very fine and compact with adult mites visibly crawling all over the webs. I've seen severe infestations on a variety of plants... not just cannabis and this aint it.

i could really use a quick professional opinion, my big plant is not looking good at all, some of the smaller leaves are turning whiteish, and alot of the hairs are looking red, so im wondering if i should go ahead and cut this plant down? im not sure if its done growing or not, but i checked it 2 days ago, and there seems to be alot more red hairs. what should i do? im outta bud too, so i need some smoke. but i realize i wont be able to touch this stuff until like what, 2 weeks (curing)?
Plz help!

(edit.. you can see where the spidermites are eating holes in the leaves, or the white specks all over the leaves. best seen in pics

Azamax .. its organic, u can put it in your nutrient soulution, foliar spray. its the shit, they will be gone in a week.. pyrethrium is good too.
spider mites get immune to some treatments so a variety of neem, azamax, pyrethrium(docktor doom etc.) works best.

azamax works wonders... your yellowing leaves is a nitrogen deff.. but i dont see much damage from the mites yet so you should treat them and finish them out.

I see no spider mite damage.

Many small spiders(and sometimes not so small) spiders will make their home in Cannabis, because the odor often draws flies.

What I see in your pix is a couple plants, budding normally.

The yellowing occurs as a plant draws all its energy into making buds.

In many strains(mostly sativas), at harvest, nearly all sun leaves are consumed in this process.

Generally, outdoors in warmer climates, spider mites are controlled by predators like ladybugs.

Good luck.

P.S. I'd harvest any budded outdoor plant in the next week, as day length will soon force the plants to reveg.
