Plants not on a timer

Ok, so my plants aren't on a timer but I'm doing the 12/12 cycle right now. I've been pretty accurate with switching at 12 hrs but sometimes I let it go a little longer in the dark. Is that ok as long as they don't get more than 12 hrs of light or is that detrimental to the plants ability to grow bud?

Any help would be nice. Obviously this is my first time or I'd have a freakin timer. :)

Yeah, it doesn't matter down to the exact minute. But you should get it consistant within a couple minutes.

If I were you, I would seriously shell out for a timer. Seriously, they are only about 5 dollars. Borrow the money from a friend if you have to.

What he said, to second that opinion. Few minutes to 1/2 and hour prolly won't hurt but you need to get them on a proper schedule post haste. :)

I'm doing mine for 13 dark and 11 light, trying to simulate actual outdoor light cycle. I run over by 5 or so minutes sometimes, shut 'em down early a few minutes early sometims. As long as you stay close to schedule for the most part you should be ok.
