plants turning brown from ground up

My plants are out side.Last time i went there they were fine but now their almost gone from the ground up they turned brown.Why did this happen?Pretty sure its not rot

I'll have to take a four wheeler ride for a picture.But no the stems are solid ,same thing happened last year in same hole i assumed it was a fluke grew great all year then in the end they fade to nothing im thinking maybe dehydration but why just this hole

sounds like some sort of localised infection or something similar, i get stem rot often but all depends where in the garden they are, even in pots....

my plant had the same problem found out it was a circulation issue but your plant may need more water because it is outsided
