High all,

I was talking to someone recently who was growing from clones and after an excellent grow the next grow has been in 12/12 for 3 weeks and only a few pre-flowers exist. here is a little run down about the environment is there anything that can be done? is this totally unusual? and WHAT CAUSES THIS SO I DONT DO IT??

HPS lighting
Drip irrigation system
temps 83.5 max, 70 low
humidity 70-80 %
using grow rocks
plants appear healthy
some spider mites but nothing severe
veg nutes are NOT the isssue
pH is correct
timer is set for 12/12 so thats not the issue unless a techinical problem Im un aware of exists with the device

I think this is happneing b/c plants were still undergoing some pruning during the very early stages of 12/12, but still it has been at least 2 weeks of 12/12 with no topping.

I just started taking my own clones and found that even after switching to 12/12 they continue some veg growth for a while. Mine took about two weeks to really start budding, but it may differ by strain. Are you 100% that there are no light leaks?

I think thereis a small 2ft flouro for the cloner that isnt totally sealed. the room is fairly large. If its NOT PITCH DARK WILL THE PLANTS NOT FLOWER?

It needs to be very dark although the moon is sometimes bright. But for the most part get it as dark as you can.

Light leaks might account for the slow beginning . . . could just be the strain. Light leaks often result in hermies, though.
