Platinum LED lighting questions

Hey all,

A question to people who run these LED lights, how are the fans operating? I'm wondering about the noise, also, how much heat do they produce? Mainly for the 280W version.

I'm currently running a 400W HPS/MH and it produces quite a lot of heat. Been thinking of switching it out due to the trouble i'm having of keeping the temps quite low but if the led's are too cool, it'll be hard to keep the heat up in the grow tent.

I've been running the P300 which pull's about 180w out of the wall with bloom on. It produces next to no heat, except from if you are within a couple inches of it, which means you can get them pretty close without any issues.

They make a little noise but no more than a regular fan. If your thinking of just getting one for a tent I'd recommend XML2 series as they get more coverage.

Yeah, after I posted this thread I did some reading and finally order a P4-XML2 for my 90x90 (3'x3') tent after consulting with platinumled.

My hopes are quite high to be honest, hopefully this will take my grow to the next level in terms of my heating issues with the 400W hps 'm running now.
