ook into sonic bloom by dan carlson, using sounds similar to birds chirping and crickets, his study has shown that there is actually an increase in stoma size and in how much they open in response to the sounds. He coupled this with a seaweed foliar feed to grow guinness book of world record plants. One example, a house plant that normally grows 18" grew to 1/8th of a mile! Plants have myriad mechanisms to regulate their growth, internal regulators & external stimuli. Studies have shown that while even indoors year round, plants can still follow the natural seasons occurring outdoors. So, why couldn't one of these external stimuli be the sounds of birds singing, "telling" the plants that it's daytime & time to get growing..... Many studies have also shown concretely that playing classical and Baroque music to plants can increase their growth rate up to 27%..... do some research and have alil faith. Can't hurt @ all, the amount of electricity used to run a speaker set is negligible, especially compared to all the other equipment being used.. I have a playlist of sounds of nature, birds singing, whole forests alive, water & crickets etc.. w/ some schubert #8 playing and I BELIEVE that its helping. I can't PROVE it, but imho its doing something.
I may be a novice, but i also have a degree in biology & have taken many plant biology and physiology courses- gaining much knowledge from those devoted to lives in the plant research fields .... Take it as you will, Just giving my two cents
