Please a RIU opinion. yellow tips & edges slowly spreading? concerned.

is there any proof that mites have infected this plant? I don't get it. how can you say you almost see mites? How does a person almost see anything? Do you see them or not?
I suspect your problem is misuse of fertilizer. why would you spray your plants when you can't really see mites?

Spray them with some kelp and water in the next time then maybe a really good compost tea. There is a product called Sea Green that will help break up salt accumulation through biological activity.

As for the mites definitely get a scope on them to determine if it really is mites and if so what exactly they are. There are quite a few different options you have if they are broad or russet mites. Amblyseius cucumeris is a predatory mite that has worked well for a few people I know. When I battled them I used avid and what all I remember was labeled as "ranch sauce" 3-4 days apart for 3 weeks.

One obvious tell-tale sign to me that it is NOT broad or russet mite. The lack of claw leaves. Like a hawk talon wrapped around a rodents neck. The other sign lack of purple in the petioles. Usually in my experience the first symptoms come out as magnesium defficiency.

To me it looks more over-fertilized and IMO too early for the liquid bonemeal. Looks like you are using good stuff and have well amended soil maybe some biology is what you need to get it all loosened up.

More water/cool them down

Restart nutrients add a Ca/Mg and use 1/2 of the strength you were using! Water - feed - water - feed and repeat.

First of all i would like to say thanks for all the help RIU.

Well i scoped them and like i thought i have that dreaded microscopic russet/broad mite on all of my plants.. I'ts hard to tell where they came from but they are all over the city everyone has them by the millions, seems like a conspiracy. I am the most frustrated I have ever been in my entire life. So without writing a whole page about how pissed & upset I am... Here is what i'm going to attempt to do before i discard and burn the entire grow.


2 days ago i sprayed "totally drench" full strength 1 1/oz per gal Monterrey garden insect control. seemed to slow them a tiny bit
today i sprayed "totally drenched" with organicide. dam does it smell like a fish market, 2 ounce per gal treatment- signs of some mites not moving around i assume some are dead.
2 days from now i will spray ARDENT 0.15EC miteside/insecticide, some say its the generic AVID this is the available option i have left.
in between sprays i plan to powder/dust the plant with diatomaceous earth to cut those fuckers up I should be getting some in the mail today.

then if i am seeing signs of it working ill start the regiment over.

the last picture is a cup of soapy warm water that i dipped 1 of the 2 week old clones in for 30 seconds and you can see there were thousands of those lil fuckers on there. i'm tired of these fuckers

@DAKUSHMAN 49 You really need to listen to your Doctor. Do you see how you went from a strict organic regime to a hardcore chemical assault on a suspected infestation when the initial diagnosis wasn't even close to insects?

IF you did have mites, and that's very possible. There was no indication of an infestation initially. I say did have mites because if they were previously living, you've thrown enough chemicals at them to satisfy Lindsey Lohans weekly need.

Nah the other guys didn't "see" them.....They saw the damage and knew.....
I've never dealt with such an advanced case......I see other signs and treat early....Haven't had them in years!

Maybe I saw mites in the first picture, but nowhere else. Did you check your soil ph after you mixed in all those amendments? Some of those will raise your ph, some will lower. You said you used a shovel to measure......If you don't have the ratios right it might have an affect.
Also what if the roots are reaching areas of the native soil, which can be way too alkaline or contain toxic material.
There aren't bugs in any of that old wood around is there?

i totally had a bad bad broad mite infestation .... ive been battling them with avid, Monterrey and by blowing diatomatious earth all over the place with my cordless leaf-blower everyday a different treatment i notest that the DE is working nicely i spread some on my fresh clones it has turned red with mite blood due to the mites getting cut the fuck up by it. lol i really think DE is what i have been missing. also the avid is knocking them dead spraying every 3 days 2 applications so far.

Maybe the mites could of came from the wood GREENSURFER but im now seeing im not the only one who has them them seem like the government drooped them on us...... the growers that have been growing in my area for 20+ years and them claim they have never known or seen them before. as I read more and more most cases of broad mites go un notested and misdiagnosed.

Could be a gov thing....seems like something they'd do since the raids are not very popular with the public anymore and this gives them a good shot at ruining crops. We'll see if Monsanto is selling mite resistant seeds in 5 years.......
