Please answer me this. Steamroller question.

I have never used a steamroller. What is the big deal with them?

At the headshop today looking at them. I don't really understand them. I mean I get how they work. My ignorance for them keep me from appreciating them.

If I took my downstem out of my bong, DIDN'T add water and put the bowl directly into the joint; pull the bowl to clear smoke - wouldn't it basically be the same thing?

because the residual smoke in the chamber of the steamroller gets inhaled real quick when you take your hand off the end. Just imagine popping the bottom off of your bong right before you clear the chamber. Only smoked out of one a few times...pretty cool, but then again, I don't own one.

Steamrollers suck man the smoke is so hot it burns your throat. stick with a bong or bubbler or better yet a vaporizer.

yea, steam rollers are for highschool kids with cardboard tubes and spare socket sets from the garage. More or less it's harsh, and can put ash in ur mouth. money could be better spent imo.

i disagree, steamrollers can be very nice if they are done properly. my old boss used to make steamrollers out of wood and they were fantastic. they were not harsh at all very smooth and cool. they were also very beautiful as he used some black walnut that he picked specifically for it. all of the pipes he made would come from wood that he had hand picked out of his own hardwood forest. great shit man. if you find a good hand made wooden steam roller buy it. you will never regret it i promise.

ps bongs are wonderful as well

What's stopping you from filling the steamroller with ice?

I had one when I was 15, it waws just a vaccum cleaner hose with a metal bowl in it. Filled it with ice cubes and it hit like a champ. I threw up the first time I got a good hit.

There are some really nice steamrollers out there. I actually helped a friend make a few, but they were not the toilet paper tube and socket combo people love to attribute to homemade pieces. And store-bought steamrollers are a lot better than most store-bought bongs. With bongs, there is water, cleaning them, the smell...ew. With a steamroller you can get the fat chamber hits we all love, but no dealing with water, easy to clean as a regular pipe.

IMO Steamroller>bong. Flame away.

steam roller's are good fun my buddy has one he made out of a two foot section of aluminum handrail stick that fucker in the freezer for a couple hour's and rip it the smoke is so cold you dont even realize your inhaling smoke until your lungs are full are your coughing them up much love for the steamroller <3

That must of been fun the first time. hope some1 had a glass of warm water to get it unstuck from your lips.Hopefully you guys were smart enough to put some kind of mouth peice that wasnt steal or aluminum on it...lol... i could totaly picture it.
