I just harvested 1 of my plants. It has bud worms in 9 out of 10 buds. Can I do anything other than throw it all away? Very discouraging.

Ya I never throw any plants away. Never! My hard work and devotion pays off one way or another. Like they said above make some hash out of them.

DUDE!!!!!! YOU DON'T HAVE TO MAKE HASH OUT OF IT ALL!!!

Just take your time trimming and pick them out and cut away the small brown area that they leave behind.
I now have, from one plant, over 7 ounces of really dank WW, beautiful buds.

If you're really worried about it, put them in the microwave for no more than 10-15 seconds. It will fry them, guaranteed. Like a pork rhind.
I would have shot myself if I had to make hash out of all that wonderful buddage!!

Sharon1- will the microwave kill the worms and leave them in the buds still? Or do you hand stakingly have to comb through the buds to find all the catapillars? Just curious because if I ever run into this problem I would like to be fully prepared. By the way I said hash as a last resort Blustarr57. If sombody else can give you better options then take their advice. Remember you put your heart and sole in what you have achomplished. So try everything that seems promising. But please under no circumstances dont just throw away any plant males included !

Yea, I had 2 helpers trimming and we did checks on each bud. They're easy to see when you know what you're looking for, and I trust that my friends were doing good searches too.
Most of them can be spotted quickly because they leave a brown patch on the bud that is very easily seen. But others were just kinda traveling along, and you just pick them off.

The microwave is gonna fry them, enlarge them slightly, and turn them a dark/medium brown. If they are embedded deep in the bud, they won't just fall out, but you will spot them.
I didn't want to bother nuking all my bud stems...that would have taken a long time and again, I would have had to go through it all anyway. Even though it's personal use bud that I'm sharing with my son, I am totally grossed out at the thought of smoking a worm so....

On this one plant though, I had only about 15 or less total.
A nusence for sure, but it could have been much worse.
It was my first grow so it's all good for learning anyway.

Toke on

Thanks , I did descide its worth going through each bud. Damn they groose me out. Some are a bright orange. They make it easy to see. I noticed after drying and putting into jars, we must have missed a couple because they crawled to the top of the jar. So grow and learn! LOL I am like you, I am NOT gonna smoke those nasty squigley little bud robbers. Thanks +rep

Fuck am I glad that I just looked into this thread...
I found a moth in my grow area yesterday that could have only been in there a day at most...
I just gave my fem plant in flowering a heavy spray of Neem oil...anyone think that'll kill any larva/eggs/caterpillars that the month may have left?
