very interesting thankyou for the info, all 12 of my seeds was feminized (4x blue og 4 x widow/haze 2xhindukush 2xwidow/bubblegum) and for example one og has huge buds one has standard and it is the same with the whole strains they are all have individual progression and successfullness . I am down to ten plants now on day 59 of flower as I just lost that one yesterday to rott and one in veg . I really want to pull them down tomorrow but I may regret it a lot so I'm stuck on the decision :( it may be weak bud :( . would an extra 3 days even make a strength difference , like harvesting on day 62 as the bag says and breeder states to do , as to opposed tomorrow on day 59? I know it completely depends on if the plant is ready itself but if I post some pics could it help to advise me on when ?

if you've inspected all the other plants thoroughly and daily...and if you can keep your humidity at or below 50% even during lights out

id personally let them go longer

but I don't want you to come back :fire: if you get more rott

theres not certainty

often times its unavoidable and it boils down to living with loss provided its not a large % of your yeild

some breeder give good reasonable estimites on completion with amber

others suggest the earliest possible harvest time to encourage those who want a quick finishing plant to buy there seeds

I run a dehumidifier when lights are out
otherwise my night time humidity climbs up high

I feel like since ive been monitoring the night time humidity more the problem has resolved, for now

during the lights on period the humidity stays in range

but rainy season is coming

another option ive considered

during the rainy months when the humidity is high
im going to top the plants more often

my hope is the plant will provide more colas but smaller rather than fewer colas that are large

my hope (we shall see) is if the colas aren't as thick and fat they'll be less prone to mold or rot

another thing

water them as little as possible
let the fan leaves droop if you can time it right... and give it just enough to not die

I'm working on the more top smaller bud this round.. Plants 8" tall with 12 tops.. Controlling night time humidity...
Keeping a thinner canopy.. yes I remove fan leaves.. and constant air movement is how you combat rot.. I have a small dehumidifier running 24/0... no rot last round.. a few days either way won't change your bud any.. just be sure about the rot... I've seen too much of it.. when I see it, I start harvesting suspect buds.. you don't have too take it down all at once...

dan has it right

but just to clarify
i don't pull fan leaves unless theyre unhealthy

on occasion I will take a couple fans to help get penetration...if the planty is tumpy and bushy ..but just a few

I pull some fan leaves in the last week or two b4 harvest

that's all fine

but don't go pulling all your fan leaves off like some people do

I love the term defoliation.. lol I remove just enough to keep the air moving..

Well guys I took them all down except one which looks like it needs longer so I put it in the cubord under a 450 and 600 w leds , the other ones I took down smell a little fruity but some smell like cut grass a little is that because they are fresh cut or weak? Also the leaves (one or two) on my widow X haze that I still have growing have brown colour on them could this be the Rott again ?

got some nice bud there

the spots on the leaves are not rot

this late into flower I wouldn't be concerned about the spots

as the plant ripens and leaches N the fan leaves can get ugly in the last week or even two

most people do only water feeds during the last week anyway so........

Fresh cut plants have many different aromas... in most cases smell has little to do with potency... Good lookin buds!
thanks , I really wanted to wait until I saw amber trichoms but had to cut them at day 59 . I can confidently say that all plants had over 70 o/o cloudy though, and I have two hindu kush which are 100 o/o indica so should they have the amber effect anyway of body kind of high like amber trichoms do with the cbn/cbt

It seems to me the harvest time of hybrids is more likely to affect the high.. early harvests on Indica dominate strains will still be Indica high... I personally harvest when most trichs are cloudy and just some amber.. different strokes!!

@Dylanfurlong,
Read about the connection of trichomes color and cannabinoids here:
http://rollitup.org/t/trichomes-harvesting.516184/

TLDR:
Amber trichomes contain degraded THC --> CBN. CBN represents a loss of 90% potency (from THC).
CBN is not desirable in any harvest, since it not only represents a huge loss of potency but research into the substance has also shown that CBN does not produce a high like THC does, CBN produces a more sickly feeling not a true high.
