Please Explain Defoliation Pros and Cons

As long as you give th eplant time to grow them back so it is bushy with leaves ready to photoshynthesize before you switch into flower when it wont grow as many new fan leaves, it should be fine. but you can clip a few to allow light to buds or new nodes when you are lst'ing

So you clip foliage so it can grow back?

Why does light need to hit the buds? The fan leaves collect light and photosynthesize, the photosynthates are then translocated to the part of the plant that needs the food. Once a leaf is full size the vast majority of the photosynthates are shipped off to other parts of the plant for growth and maintenance.
