i will ditch the 400w hps and just use the 250w cfl, and move the globe a bit higher, the temps around 70 in my area at the moment. just have to wait and see now, cheers guys

i would agree with lifting the light for a few days they do not need a lot of light right now. But unlike clones seeds are hardy and can handle extreme light right form birth. you can easily start a seed under a 1000w MH. think about it. in nature they use the sun the most powerful light we have. clones are not that way they need to be adjusted to more light intensity.

so i have just kept the 250w cfl and turned the 400w hps off, emptied the water out the tray and moved the pots a little further away from the light. and kept the fan running, any other tips or ideas to help, will not water now for a while to

Much better now. When I water seedling I water with very little in a circle around the plant. This promoted root growth and a strong rootball. Seedling should be watered every 5 or so day. Let them dry roots won't grow if the water is right there they have to search for it!
