PLEASE HELP bubbleponics problems

Bubbleponics is supposed to be really easy to grow in but i have had nothing but problems so far. I sprouted my seeds put them in the rockwell cubes turned on the system waited till they popped up and then turned the lights on 18 hour cycles and then added my nutrients. the problem is that one of the plants that was 3 inches tall had to be tied up because it was layin on its side. and 3 of them are turning yellow and curling under on the edges and some of the vains are turning yellow as well. These plants are only 1 week old.
-Should i have the lights on 24/7?
-Did I burn them with nutrients?
-Is it normal That they r only 3 1/2 inches tall and almost no visiable roots coming through the bottom of the rockwell cubes and net pots @1 week?
-Should the net pots be under the water surface at all?
-When should the nutrients be added?
