Please Help Can I Use Only One Light To The Side Of My Grow Room

I have a 600 watt mh and hps grow light/ballast and wanted to know if i could use it to the side of my small grow room instead of the top, outter walls are complete mylar and im growing 10 plants hydro except if my ligght is mounted on top they may not have room to fully mature before hitting the roof of my grow room

It will be easier to top or train the plants than it would be to remount the light. It can be done, but there are easier things you can do.

the light isnt mounted because i dont trust the hooks in the upper drywall of the grow room, its a large light fixture and im scared cutting the tops off my plants will reduce the yield and potency

Topping won't affect potency, but it will affect yield in a good way. It will let you veg the plants longer and make them bushier. If you happen to already be in flower, you can always tie the branches down or over, and the yield responds well to that as well. Moving the light is a viable option- only reason I said not to is because it is a pain to move mine around, but if remounting it isn't an issue, then it would work fine.

awesome thanks! but i was wondering for my new sprouts could i possibly have this light to the side for the entire growth, or would this cause problems

No problem. As far as keeping a light on the side from start to finish, the biggest problem you will have is that the plant will be growing almost sideways. I would suggest to keep the light up top until the stems strengthen up, then you can move the light to the side without worrying about the plants tipping over.

right on im going to try it, thanks alot for your help! i will personally let you know if i have any more questions you seem to know your stuff, oh one more thing im looking for a cheaper mylar other then emergency blankets to cover the walls where do you reccomend i get this?

There are some sellers on ebay, google shopping has a link, a lot of hydro shops will have them available online- if you buy it by the roll you will save a lot of money compared to the blankets.
