Please help, dark purple edges w/slight yellowing

I noticed my plants are starting to grow again after transplanting (seems like they took FOREVER) but now they're showing a lot of purple edges, especially on the new leaves. What could this be? Also I'm noticing some yellowing, both on the larger leaves around the edges and on the newer ones, also with a heavy purple cast. Oh yeah, and one is showing a purple color in the stem. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

I am not sure since I have never had this issue, but I believe its a phosphate issue. Find a germination nute (very easy on young plants) which contains hi ammounts of phosphate, I believe natures harvest has some great germination nutes. Give that a try though and good luck.

No nutes but I DID plant them in MG with slow release. But it seems weird that the fert would burn them because on the bag the nutes don't seem to be registered all that high. The bag says 0.21%-0.07%-0.14%. Does that make it 21-7-14? I'm new to ferts so the bag confuses me :confused:

Very good call, bbike1. Everything I've read and seen and heard this is due to a phosphate deficiency. I was hoping it was the strain but I know for a fact I didn't buy any "purp" lmao, not for $25 an 1/8th. I added some phosphorous and I'll check back within the next few days to keep ya'll updated. Fingers crossed. :peace:

I know that now lol. I was ill prepared and really didn't even expect for these lil gals to grow, so when they sprouted I just rushed out and bought what I "thought" would be good.

you need to put the cfls really close to the plants and not use those reflectors they get to hot. do u have a vent system? just use 2 large computer fans. also do you ph your water?

The reflectors have been off for a while now, and I always pH my water. I use aluminum sulfate to get my water to 6.5. Today I changed my medium so I'll keep a close eye on em the next few days to see what happens. I was using MG with continuous release, but I switched to Fox Farm Ocean Forest today and bigger pots. My vent system is a single fan blowing on the plants, and I have the lights at about 1.5" from the tips of the top leaves. Here's a few updated pics taken today.

i put my lights even closer but that looks good. i have 4 plants about the same size but in smaller pots and they started just like urs but now they are fire. most of all i try to keep my water pHed and when they look a little yellow i just add some nutes.

Yo i dont think u can find it in the us or anything, im very far, but its called Forza Mix Slow release Triple. Its got three components, Nitrogen only, 1-1-1 NPK (15% each), and a micronutrient additive. the additvie has about every micronute needed

Reflectors help difuse the heat a small fan will cool the reflector almost eliminating the heat completely
