Please help, first time harvest

Alright lads I was just wonderin will all of the leaves fall off my plant before it's ready to harvest..also I belive that all the hairs should dissapear into the bud?? The last week should be when 2/3 of the hairs have turned brown?? Cheers guys, first time harvest an no microscope etc.. Many thanks

...well, without a microscope it's really hard to be for certain when your crop is done. BUT, in the past, I waited until all of the bigger fan leaves trun yellow. They shoud begin to turn yellow around week 5 if your working with an 8 week strain. Some also go by the "hairs"....some say when 80% of the hairs are red is a good time to harvest. Once you harvest how do you plan on dry'n/cure'n?

...btw, you shouldn't have many leaves falling off of your plant. They should mostly only trun pale in color, yellowish. Good luck.

Thanks..so what would happen if I left it too long?? The leafs are goin yellow an as they wilt if they are ready 2drop off I'll take them off..they are in week 7/8 I wish I'd made a note of times I started flowerin etc..lol they are sativa an stand 1500mm tall or 5ft5in..the buds are about 2-3 inchs thick an almost a foot long in places, still I thought they would come up thicker..

too long will produce a heavy / harsh smoke.

7/8 wks - I assume its 8 weeks to flower ?

If so you sound as though you are on track for 8wk harvest with 2/3 turned brown already. Stick to your schedual ! Show us some close ups if you can !

And as for the dryin out, I was thinkin upside down in a wardrobe for a week or two then into jars in the fridge..not packed too tightly???

hang untill, it the stems "snap", then go through a CUREING PROCESS.
(In and out of glass jars for about 2 weeks or untill at desired feel and smoke.)
I usually put in a glass jar for 12 hrs out in the open in a dry space for 12hrs.

I repeat for 4 weeks. I shorten the time OUT, gradually also.

And lads shouldn't all the hairs disapear into the bud. Like become engulfed by bud??

No, the hairs will just go brown. Your goal is to mature the TRICs, with out over doing it. So with out microscope, just harvest on schedule !

hey man. some pics would really help. but DO NOT wait until every single hair has turned dark brown. THC bigins to break down and lose potency after a certain amount of time. usually there is a 1 week time period where you should decide when to harvest. it is crucial you dont wait too long.

the leaves going yellow is the sugar being transferred to the buds.harvest wen your at about 80% red hair,never let it go to 100%.

Let your buds ripen on the plant..... i let them go until the hairs are engulfed by the buds. everyone harvs too early, if you let any type of fruit ripen on the plant it will be much sweeter and lucious. ie. homegrown fruit compared to grocery store fruit....
