Oz?

I use/used 23w CFL's from the grocery store, stuck them in cheap light fixtures, normal everyday plugs and sockets.

A bit more detail of what you want, would be nice.

yeah socket and cord dude. I circumvented the 'problem' by buying $10 "work lamp" with reflector and all, did a bit of hot knife alterations and addition of 28watt cfl's (42watt didn't come in Edison) and two cfl grow lights, 2 x 130w 6400k in the post to come.

oz = aus = australia i think. as for the cfl the socket type most common in america is e26, thats a 26mm socket size. same as what you find in any household light socket, thats why people use cfls, theyre standard sized and easy to work with.

are you talking about the socket and cord? I bought a 1000 hps socket and cord for $15 from a local hydro shop. It came with a metal bracket so I can hang the light vertical with no hood. not sure if this helps.

Do not just re-wire it without the proper setup.. the result will not be what you expect with this. I feel that this is a hell of a troll, but will go along with it just because I'd rather not see shit result assuming you're serious. With that, you will also need a 1000w ballast... if not, no ignitor = no light.
