My tent is 78-83 likes on and 70-72 lights off. I did have my light up too high and lowered but I won't know the correct intensity until my PAR meter gets hear.
I was doing 5.8 PH because everyone on YouTube and Google said 5.8 but you and Reddit have told me the same thing 6.2-6.3.
Will I also need to test the PH in my coco with a soil tester?
How do I know when it's 30-40%? I weighed my pots after watering but need help with the formula.
Before you go into unrelated stuff like par meters and other nonsense that won't make your grow any better let's cover the basics.
Make sure you put some probe or temp meter in canopy level for an accurate reading, not in the side of the tent, but right under the lights at canopy level.
Next, people have trouble with 5.8, it's just too low, 6.2 is what I recommend but you shouldn't listen to me or youtube, water with 5.8 and look at your plants after a 6 hours period or even a day, afterwards try 6.2-6.3 and take notes.
Why you need to test the PH of your coco ? You mean run off ? If you follow your plants it's uneccerary, if you wanna be l a math head then go for it.
You will know eventually when it's dry enough, also lifting it up is good way of checking.
Should I flush with plain RO water? I've heard flushing with plain water from half the internet and the other half said flushing with 150ppm Cal-Mag and 150ppm nutrients for a total of 300ppm
Roots don't like flactuations, it's better to "flush" with a + or - solution close to your feed in order to achieve what you want slowly and without shocking the roots.
Only if you over do it to the max and put poison in your watering then you should flush with plain RO
Anyway, don't make drastic changes to the rootzone.
