Please Help me get he right equipment.

I am interested on getting a set up going, I been reading on this site for some time now. At first I was going to purchase a bloombox, however after reading may posts here I decided to go with a grow tent. This is what i need help with, does anyone sell a whole kit, lights, tent, smell control etc? Based on whats i read the growlab tent is the most durable, is that correct? My budget is up to 4k could someone make some suggestions, begining with the best strain to grow indoors, should I go hydro or soil? What equipment should i get, lights, air scrubber etc.. I was thinking 600w bulb and balast, is that the best bet for me?


Please give me suggestions with the best brands and maybe best place to buy them.

there alot of things you can do with 4k. question is how much room you have first. also hydro or soil? depends on you. soil is easyer for me. less chances of fucking up. hydro grows seem to be alittle faster than soil. 600hps is good 1000hps is better, but i use 400 hps, because of the heat. air cooled hoods are a must. the more heat you can suk out the better. fox farm makes a goil organic soil. use 2-3 gal pots. i use botanic nutes, pro bloom for flower, pure blend for veg. get you a ph dital pen, and a ppm metter. these are a must. theres alot to start with. grow tent is good, i build a barn lol. had a friend just built him a little green house. he on here look at cruzer101 hes got a good set up as well.

I have a 10 by 12 area to work with, it is air conditioned but the air out of the tent will have to stay in the room and be removed via the air conditioner as I am unable to put an exhaust vent. One thousand watt is maybe a little too much for a tent? 'too hot'

like cuts said you can do ALOT with 4k. space will be your only hold back. there was a website that sold entire set up but i forgot the name.google it??? depending where u live id look at craigslist n see what you can find for equipment, ud be suprised. i am currently doing both soil and hydro. i would run two rooms one veg and other flower. 600w are the most efficient. good ventilation is a must and intake, unless your doing co2 which i would highly suggest since you have the funds for it. if you could give more info on your space it would help.

yes a 1000 would be hot really the size of you light depends on the size of area you growing in. each light either 400,600 or a 1000, each one has a footprint. 3x3 area 400, 4x4 area 600, any thing bigger 1000. good rule of thum

4,000 is eay to much. you should only need about half that to get going

Redemption, you left out one detail, what you hope to accomplish. I think that you will get better answers if you provide just a little more information. One plant every 60 days? 12 plants every 30 days?

Do not buy a Tent!!!!! waste of money. I bought two and ended up cutting the top and framing it in anyways, but zippers and velcro are cool though. My closet has always been the best with isulated drywall, but I have a 10'X10' closet. I would do a 1000 watt, because Ive seen the difference in yield. spend no less than 300 on ballast, lumatek, global greehouse..ect... it will make make a difference after the first couple years. get a high powered exaust fan or liquid cooled lights are the best at keeping the heat away from the plants, 1-50 gal reservoir will cool 1- 1000watt. I use light movers to maximise light coverage. Beginers I would recomend using good soil and also starting with feminised seeds so you dont waste your time and money with bunk plants. I use aeroponics because I like to spend lots of money, and have the best medication around. I have wasted lots of money on many shitty products getting to the point where Im at now. you get what you pay for in equipment 50% of the time, the other 50% is just plain rippoff.

If I were you I would figure out a way to get the heat of lights out of there. There has got to be a way. Spend your money on that.

I am a legal medical tree grower. I dont want any hassle. I have two tents. One has a 600 watt with co2 and a cap gen relay on timer. An 8 inch fan pumping the heat of lights out the window thru a carbone scrubber and a small inline for exhaust all night and every two hours. I use a digital ballast I got off ebay for 300 or less with a cool tube that works awesome. Cheap and no rf interfernece and fast shipping. I ran a thread on the company and all good results for these cheap silver fresh model digi ballasts.

The other has a 4 foot 6 bulb t5. I got it for 170 at a hydro store. Great for vegging.

I grow in five gallon buckets and 18 and 14 gal rubbermaids. Depending on my mood. I use huge comercial airpumps I got for 50 bucks each. They pump out 35 and 20 watts respectively. YOu need one WATT a gal for buckets.

I use clones and seeds. Powder mildew is a scare you can get at clubs like I did.

Strains are the most improtant part. Then good method that you can manage to get air to the roots. But you NEED a PH PEN! A good milawaukee ph 56 for 50-60 is a great buy I enjoy. Take care of it. Also you need a ppm pen. HM last forever and are 20 bucks. Also You need a good easy nute system. For a beginner the Lucas idea with gh three part is a great easy thing to get right. Or the three part. I use my reg tapwater with regualr three part or lucas and ph is very stable. Nute systems should be mineral and have edta written on the label. I hear that is the reason they work so well.

Dwc is easy to manage and grow big girls in. Also those nft channels that are popluar get air in there. If you are going sog then I envy you.

For air it should not get to bad except in august and september. I live in desert and it is easy until then. Use GOOD EXTRACTION and the best air you can. I would say a wall would be cheaper but maybe a two hose deal is your thing.

Thanks for all the replies, I would like to run about 12 plants at a time, 12 every thirty sounds about right. I will deff start with feminized seeds, I think that maybe soil might be a good start for me. IS growlab the best tent? or is there anything better?
