This is my first grow & I'm growing Lowryder Easy Ryder (AKA Lowryder #2 x AK47) in an aerogarden(it's all I have space for)
Ok, so my baby girl has a rough story so far. I explain it so everyone knows why she is the way she is.
To start off with I bought an aerogarden from the US and stupidly forgot about the massive voltage difference between the US and Australia. Sooo, I germinated my seed and put it in the seedpod then plugged the aerogarden into the powerpoint with a US to Australia adapter & ka-fricken-boom. The electronics for the lights blew and started smoking and then the pump literally made an exploding noise. So I contacted the seller and explained that it arrived faulty & organised to send it back.
The problem then was that I now had a germinated seed and nothing to grow it in and very limited cash. So I made a panel that fit on an 8 litre bucket I had and placed the seed pod in that & bought some desktop lamps and used the highest powered 5000k lights I could find which were 120w and 125w. I knew that these were not sufficient, but what ya gonna do when ya have no cash.
She had a rough start, during weeks 3-5 I figured out that I had given her too much water and I had root rot & from that I had also managed to get fungus gnats. I fixed that problem by lowering the water level in the bucket and replacing the water ever 2 days. I was also told that I may have developed root rot due to the fact that not enough air was being absorbed into the water and to add hydrogen peroxide. I did that and kept up with the hydrogen peroxide right up until the new aerogarden arrived. Towards the end of week 4 or possibly the beginning of week 5 I had completely gotten rid of the fungus gnats and fixed up the root rot. No brown fungus was to be seen anywhere now.
I ordered a replacement aerogarden and a step down transformer, but didn't manage to get it here until the middle of week 7 at which stage the plant had pretty much done most of it's upward growing
No biggie I thought. So I end up with a small plant. Better than no plant at all right.
I transferred my lady to the aerogarden and dialled down the ferts to accommodate the smaller reservoir. However, I must be doing something wrong because as soon as I transferred her, the problems began.
Some leaves began to slowly turn yellow in the middle and it would spread to the outer edges of the leave then the whole leave would die and fall off. This has very slowly increased and 2 or 3 leaves are now showing orangeish spots and look like they are going to go down the same path as the others.
Also, when I open up the res to check the water level there is what appears to be a salt like build up on the edge. I also noticed the same thing around the base of my plant. It's not as bad in the picture of the base because the previous night I gently rubbed alot of it off of the base.
I've included some pics for yall to have a look at. Please help me guys, I know of no sellers where I live and have been hanging out for a smoke for aaaaaaaaaaages. I can't loose her now.
Below is a close up of the open top edge of the res and the build up.
