Please help - My plants are too big!

They are still vegging and I'm thinking of switching to 12/12 now.

(The smaller ones are 35-40cm high), but bigger ones are 60-70cm. Pots are about 30cm which makes them 90-100cm high, but I'm limited with 230cm of height. Reflector takes away about 20cm + the distance between the plants and 1000W (35cm?). This leaves me only 165cm for the plants that are taking 90-100cm in height already. If they stretch 2x their size with flowering, it's already 180-200cm which clearly exceeds 165cm.

Bottom line: I need to figure out how to lower the plants.

I have already topped 3 of them 3 weeks ago, because they were the tallest ones, but I don't think I want to throw away big parts of my plants anymore.. and taking little cuttings just won't change a thing.

I figured I should try to do some bending of the stems (training?) and maybe Screen of Green to block them from stretching too tall?

I figured I would have 4+4 plants under 2x 1000W.

.. but I have no experience with training and ScroG what so ever......

... so I'm pretty damn confused about my situation at the moment.

BIG QUESTION: Can I switch to 12/12 and then start reading about training? Is it okay to bend the stem when the plants are being flipped from vegetation to flowering? Isn't it too late yet?

^agreed. I'd super crop then tie em down. Take it slow when bending them though. It okay if it takes a couple days to bend them to where you like. Good luck, they look really nice and healthy!

oh, and to answer your question, yes you can train in flower. If done slow it won't cause the plant much stress at all.

Doesn't it mean throwing off lots of plant material? I'm going to have 4 plants per 1000W anyway. Why not training instead?
supercropping is training.....pinch stems half way up, bend stem 90* give it too days keeping it bent, a knuckle will form and your plant will be lower and wider....

you have no lower growth just a few main tops

and no room for wide plants without loosing some....id just filp asap and see how it goes.....go smaller next run....

Ffs just to be clear you have some lower growth but Imo your nodes are too strectched, and after flip most of that lower growth will become popcorn bud....imo...

LST seems to be the right thing to do. I'm going to switch to 12/12 now and I will slowly start bending the stems really gently. Very interesting stuff. I hope it's going to work out well for me. Thank you!!!

I hope I did well. It took me 24 hours of total to get them like that. I bent two times (12 hour + 12 hour).

Stems were really easy to bend. Elastic.
