Hi all,

Ok so my clones are looking pretty f**king dead and I'm confused why. The clones were rooted and perfectly healthy before going in.

Prior to the clones going in the whole system was ran for 24 hours with ph'd water. This was then drained and new water was put in with half strength nutes. I noticed they started to go yellow as if it was nute burn, so emptied refilled the water ph it and quarter strength nutes. So now I have changed the water again just ph water. Still turning yellow, brown. Are my plants dead? Can I fix this?

Please Help me.

Details:
600w hps (around 3.5 - 4 ft)
rockwool (treated for 20 hours prior)
clay pellets (cleaned and treated prior)
Mylar everywhere

necrosis, secondary to too high of an ionic solution..............also know as nutrient burn. you foliar fed?

Looks dead too me, no vital signs of a good leaf.. nute burn to the max.. whats your nute regime? I would start of like 1 tenth of nutes since its still a baby.. and monitor it and when the kid show signs of deficiencies is when you slowly bump up the nutes till it matures, then u load it

Ah shit....I am a first time grower and went on the advice of a friend on the nute amount. Ph is between 5-6 thats the best accuracy I can achieve atm. I have fed them once a day again on the advice of the same friend. Do you think I can save them by cutting around of the majority of the rockwool cube and starting again? I know this is probably my last attempt at getting these to live. Should I shoot my friend?

Thanks for the quick replies everyone.

Not a chance in hell. Start again ,get a ppm meter and have it in the 600 range to avoid this disaster happening again..

Okay my friend told me due to it being hydroponics all the nutes are in the water are retained for a much shorter period of time than in soil. Maybe somebody reading this can advise a more suitable feeding regime? It would be of great help and needed :) For the time being I have flushed the rockwool with ph water no nutes and I've noticed some improvement green hints starting to show down some of the main veins of the leaves. Last surge before the end? I've got some more clones on the way soon so I'll continue to try and save learn from these poor buggers.

Start with just RO water. You need a PPM meter and a pH meter before you even start. Period. Or look forward to more of the same ol'. By then hopefully you will have read a few threads in the hydro section. I started my very first at 125 PPM. Didn't do squat. Raised it to 145. Nothing. 175 to 225 - nothing. 245 - came home and you could see the change after just 14 hours. Then, reading others threads, I watched to see if she was drinking water or using nutrients. This you need meters for. get them.

keep it real.

Are you sure you didn't get teaspoon and tablespoon mixed up cause I don't think 1/2 strength nutes would have burnt that plant soo severely? Yea I would think 1/2 would have Burnt it but damn!
