hi, i am new to growing and i have 2 seedlings that are 7 days old, i have been spaying them with water with a ph of 6.8 and respraying them when the soil looks dry, i have 3 20w cfl's on them at the min, i used some miracle grow plant feed on them about 3 days ago, later that day one of the leaves on one of the plants looked unhealthy and the next day the stem bent over, i propped it up and loosely tied it and now the leaves are drooping down, i am watering as normal, any advice would be great thanks........the other plant is fine and healthy ?

Well, you should never feed them when they're that young. Are the edges of the leaves brown? How close are your lights? Are you going to water them the normal way?How often do you end up watering?

EDIT.Get the lights about two inches away, they're probably stretching. Are you saturating the soil each time?

if the whole stem bent over your prolly not watering enough. Just spraying the top of the soil may not be enough.

Well, number 1, they're WAY stretched. You need to get those lights within two or three inches.Number 2,You need to water the soil, until a little comes out the bottom,to get the water to the roots.Wait till the soil is dry about an inch in, and do it again.Usually every two or three days.Don't nute them until they're about thrity days old.Get a fan blowing on them to strengthen the stems. If you plan to grow with cfl's, get more, and try to get bigger ones. You'll need daylight cfl's for veg. They are a bright bluish white. The color temp is 6500k.Warm whites are for flower. They are reddish white. The color temp is 2700k.
here are some pics thanks for the interest.....

Yeah, don't spray, pour water on the soil and wet it. Move the fan closer every few days, blow those stems back and forth, that will strengthen them. If you have a 250 watt metal halide on the way,You should be ok with those three plants.Probably not any more.

well without a picture i can only venture to guess you could be over fertilizing, you do not always get burnt tips with over fertilizing it is very easy to over fertilize in soil I do not grow in soil I have been growing in rockwool for 12 years and average between 14 and 19 ounces of top shelf marijuana. you just don't know what is in the soil with rockwool you control 100 percent of everything. IF you would like to learn how to do it I will help anyone that wants to learn it is a small investimate compared to the outcome. I will even pass the chart of what fertilizers at what time and how much at what time this chart was started by my father in 1983 and is perfect I keep no secrets I believe that good karma spells success I like to see everyone do good. [email protected] anyone that wants to learn can hit me up god bless p.s I am not affiliated with any companies and sell nothing just learned the hard way and willing to save u years of frustration.
