Please help! Temperature Problems in my 2x1000 watt flower room

Hi all,

I just built my flower room. It is 12ftx12ftx8 ft tall. I have 2x1000 watt hps in air cooled hoods by hydrofarm. I have a 670 cfm exhaust fan that is sucking hot air off the bulbs. Currently only one 1000 watt fan is hooked up right now as i am vegging my plants with it for a few more weeks. The problem is however, is that my temps with the one light running are at 89.7 degrees.
I cant imagine what it will be like with two lights running.
The room is an extra bedroom that does have Ac. My set up though has panda film stetched out over a door that leads up into the attic. I am running ducting around a slit in the panda film and up into the attic to vent my hot air.
I think my room could be getting so hot simply due to hot air from the attic getting into the room.

Please does anyone have any advice on how to get my temps down or any idea of why they are so high.

I even have an oscilating fan in the room and i just bought a huge 24 inch 2300 cfm fan from home depot for a hundred bucks to try to cool it off. That only got temps down to 85.

Any advice is appreciated. does anyone think that it could be so hot due to hot air from the open door to the attic getting to the room or do you think its my lights?

Dude you need ac. Get a portable ac unit asap.

also think about getting a cool tube and ducting the hot air from your lights to the exterior.

Bottom line is that you just arent getting the heat you are exhausting far enough away from the grow room. You need to vent outside or to somewhere big enough to disperse the that heat you are exhausting. The place you are exhausting to, especially if its indoors, should be quite a bit cooler than your grow area. You are also exhausting your grow room as well as your lights right? But you need to sort your ventilation out for sure, I know cause Ive got the same issue myself but mine is smaller scale. Good luck

You need to pull cool air from another room in the house not the same room your growing in, duct through both reflectors, then the ducting coming off your second reflector needs to be exhausted through and out of the attic.
Then add a second equal size inline fan to exhaust the ambient air in the room. cut a small hole in the bottom of the wall adjoining another cool room to create a passive intake. Since you have an attic, I would mount both fans and ducting up there.

With a fan like that cooling the bulb you should be no more than 4 degrees above ambient room temp. If hot air is coming back into the room it needs to be stopped. We cant help you with that cause we have no idea how your house is set up.

Your main fan should be cooling the lights and venting the hot air far away. Then you need to cool the room down by either pulling/pushing cool air in and sucking the old hot air out and venting that air far away too.

I have ac in the room and i also have the lights in air cooled hoods that are hooked up to a 670 cfm fan.

The ac temp is turned on and set at 72 on the thermostat. It a ceiling vent on the ceiling blowing cool air down into the room.

I honestly think a lot of it is hot air from the attic getting back into the room

I just went thru this in a 10x10x8' tall bedroom...
Get a small fan that fit up in the air supply of the room this will help get more cool air in the room.
Fans many
2 on the floor 1 osolating 2 box fans hangingin each corner.
I had the same problem with 2 1,000. got me down to 79 during the day

well last night we got the temperature down to 78.5. i was thinking about hanging a fan up by the ac vent to blow the cool air down to the plants. Also thinking about getting a new door for the attic stairwell and cutting out two 6" circle holes in the door to run ducting through for my exhaust fan for the lights, and another hole for my exhaust fan for my charcoal filter when i get it next week.
This way i will have wayy less hot air from my attic get into the room. Cuz right now i just have panda film covering the door way to the attic. I leave the door open and run the ducting through the side of the door way where the panda film is not tacted up.

Hopefully this will help out a lot with the temps. what do you all think?

only problem with that set up is that this set up i need to be able to disassemble and break down really easily and not cause any damage to the house or cut any holes in any walls, as i have family that visits frequently. I would cut a hole to the attic if possible, but it is just not an option right now. This is why i was going to buy a spare door and cut holes in it, this way i can just swap out the door when i need to.
