I just have a few ?'s about the plants in a S.o.G. & Id appreciate any help.

1st, I have my 1st batch of plants under the HPS for about 2 weeks now(2' tall) all from seed. I have 3 more batches behind them from seed too. I plan on cutting everything off on the bottom 1/2 of these plants sinse they will be together & not gettin much light anyway. I do have mothers but sinse I just started up the mothers are the same size. Can I clone them this early or do I have to wait till they get alittle older? I did some but they havent rooted yet after 5 days.

2nd, Ive been cutting basically 1/2 the fan leaves(tips) off of all the plants under the HPS so the light can get underneath till I figure out if Im gonna be cloning from them or not & have a good amount of them frozen. Can I use these leaves to make butter or brownies or are they to young(no THC)?

Lastly, I posted some pics. Can anyone tell me if Im doin something wrong or something I should be doin diff or better? Thanx alot.

1st - The clones look okay, they are a bit small, bigger clones are usually stronger, faster rooting.

2nd- It depends how long they have been in flower, 12/12 light triggers formation of THC droplets which appear all over the leaves, especially close to bud formations. If its a plant still in veg, you wont get anything good from those leaves.

- everything seems okay, looks neat and clean, I like.

Thanx for the response bro. The S.o.G plants have been under the HPS for about 2 weeks now on 12/12. Theres no crystals on the smaller "sugar leaves" yet thats why i wasnt sure if I could use the fan leaves but I guess not yet. Yeah the clones are small cuz I took them from the bottom branches of the plants that just went under the HPS, they are still healthy lookin even tho theres no roots comin out of the plug. If it doesnt work Ill just wait till the mothers I selected out of the bunch get more mature. The clones I did over the summer came out fast & nice but they were taken off much bigger plants. I just want to keep the cycle goin of 20 plants in & 20 plants out every 2 weeks without any interuptions.

As far as maturity for cloning, I wait until the plant starts to alternate the nodes rather than growing side by side on the main stalk. This way, I know that when I put them into 12/12 they will not have to wait to start flowering. Growing from non FEM seeds is the problem of sog growing from seed. You end up on male watch for the whole darn grow. One ruptured pollen sac and hello seeded buds.

Flam, what happened is last Feb I started a grow indoors all from feminized seeds & moved all my plants outdoors in the Spring. I had 27 plants spread over 3-4 diff spots, long story short I had to move a few of my plants a couple times, once was during early stages of flowering. 2 of my plants, both White Russians, got stressed out & produced seeds. I did some research & posted on here a couple times, I found out that if a female plant produces seeds from stress & not from being pollanated by a male that the seeds will remain feminized. Just to make sure I grew 6 plants from the seed & they were all female. Ill still keep an eye out but Im pretty confident they will all be female plants, so far they are.

Thanx Tommy for the info. Like I said, I want to cut off everything on the bottom 1/2 of the plants off. 1, cuz theyre not gonna get much light anyway in a S.o.G, & 2, so the plant can focus its energy & Nutes on the upper 1/2 of the plant that is getting light. I was hoping to get clones off those plants sooner than later so I could cut everything off. I have 4 small mothers now & I plan on making 2 more from my next batch, Ill just have to wait alittle longer to get them. The SoG plants should be cloned before they start to flower right so they dont get stressed? Theyve only been under the HPS for 2 weeks so I have some more time.

Also, the 4 mothers I have are over 2' tall now & still under Cool White CFLs, I have a seperate room that is eventually gonna be used as another SoG room, in the meantime should I put the mothers in there under the MH lights so they get alittle taller & fill out faster? Thanx again.

Kottonmouth, Ive had my clones in the plugs for 5 days & even tho they still look very healthy I dont see any roots yet either. Thats why I asked if maybe the plants I cloned from this time werent mature enough. In the beggining of the summer I took clones from my strong outdoor plants & I could see roots in 7 days at the very longest. Im gonna give mine a few more days & see how theyre doin. Im pretty sure your not supposed to take clones to close to harvest. I think its healthier for the plant if its done a couple weeks before harvest, around the time you stop giving the plants Nutes & start flushing them. Are you using the Rapid Rooter system to clone? Make sure your misting the clones & the plastic dome. Also, make sure you open the 2 tabs on the top for at least an hour once a day. Plus, make sure the light is right abouve the cloner, they love humidity. You can also try putting a heating pad underneath the cloner. If you have any pics then post em'. Check out this YouTube video, this is the one I watched to learn how to clone. Let me know if it helps. I will post some more pics in a couple days showing any progress of my clones.

Sometimes those plugs can remain too wet and you get stem rot instead of roots while the top remains looking healthy.

I never had luck cloning until I built a DWC bubble cloner and put a propagation heat mat under it. Now I got roots in a week easy.

This is yesterday: The 4 in front have been in the cloner for 8 days. The 2 in the middle only 4 or 5 days, and the 2 in back just 2 days.
