see soo then WTF i should be able to water her soon cause the soil is almost Dry ive been at work all day n came home to the pot feeling lighter then my lighter i light my cigs with tell me thats not light bruh? i even squeeze the soil it dont even stick together NOW if it did then i wouldnt trip but its not so im assuming the roots had enough oxygen too much or waiting too long n i wont have a dammn plant,
OK, here goes.
I'm not saying it's the "right way", but the way I water is I water from the stem all the way to the pot.
I pour slowly, (a good habit to get into because it helps avoid splash if/ when you have nutes in your water.), and also because it allows the water to flow through all the soil, not just where it finds loose pockets.
I water until there's some runoff coming out, then some more.
Usually I make enough water mixture so that I know I have extra, and as I said, don't mix it until you're ready to use it, so I pour everything through.
Now that I am in a 5 gallon pot, usually that's about 5 liters, or a little over a gallon.
I know I am getting close to time to water, weight, and by being able to squeeze my pot, and the soil flexes with the pot, and is kinda crispy on top.
Now.
Getting to you.
Due to the way I water, which is how I used to do with vegetables, house plants, etc., I don't like Peat, because if you have a rootball in the middle only, due to always being wet and the roots never having to grow in search of water, you will end up with a soggy mess in the middle, while the rest of the pot feels bone dry.
Now, in your case, I think that's what happened, is you have that wet chunk in the middle, so it's going to be a balancing act with trying to keep it alive, while at the same time trying to keep it dry enough to make the roots grow out.
So, that said, if
YOU think you should water, my suggestion would be to only water the outer portion of the soil, close to the pot, not directly around the stem.
