Please help with a ph issue

Hi guys,

just wondering if anyone Can help me with an issue I just realised I’m having.

im using advance nutrients ph perfect.
24 hrs after mixing up my nutes I find my ph has risen by .5 and keeps going up every day.
Does anyone know the reason for this? And how to rectify?

What is the ppm of your water before you add anything? If you put that PH perfect stuff in RO water, I'm sure it would hold the buffer, but everyone's tap water is different, so the bicarbonates in your water-the "alkalinity"-will buffer it over time. For this reason, it's usually recommended to use RO water in hydro, or in a situation where you have a reservoir. For soil, or even coco, it doesn't really matter as much.

Are u running it full strength?

I used it, ran about half strength or a but more, never really would stay where I wanted it in a rezz

Maybe it's good for dirt or something else

I just poured a fert solution of 750ppm. Using a blue lab PH pen.

It read 6.0 before I pulled the meter out the solution. Its probably 5.7-5.8 but I didn't want to stand there for 5 minutes waiting on the meter. This batch had 4 drops of PH down. Bubbled over night. I want some drift. I want it to float up from 5.8 and end up a 6.2. Because my next watering will knock it down to a 5.8. I alternate between 3 drops to 4. I want a very slight PH range drift.

You're talking about a .5

Buy a RO system.

Not 100% on the ppm on the water. When first mixed up ec is at 1.9 and ph 6.2 which is still a bit high.
My veg nutes where at 5.7
I’m guessing your right with the two water being the problem. Hoping there’s another solution to avoid having to setup RO water

I’m on full strength now. Plants looking good. No signs of deficiencies or an abundance.
yeh ok I was only checking once I first made it never thought to check a day or to later. Notice ec drops and ph rises.

Yeh I’m talking about .5 but when it was already at 6.2 rising by .5 is a pretty high ph when I’m running in coco I want to be around 5.7.
I havnt used ph down before is it fine to use withph perfect nutes?
once you add the ph down how long does it take to settle down and get the correct reading?

Do you recon distilled water will have the same effect with the nutes as reverse osmosis?
