I regularly will throw nicely sized 2 gal clones into 7 gal pots and throw them straight into flower with great results. Roots don't only grow in VEG.
Don't over think it, plants are not going to care when you transplant them so long as you continue everything as normal and try keeping everything else as balanced as possible..
