Well flushing is debatable to say the least lol. Flushing one to two weeks before the actual harvest is said to flush out the excess nutes that have accumulated in the plant, making for a better smoke. Is it true, dont know lol. By the time I flush (not sure why but seems logical lol) the plant (1 week before harvest) has typically stopped doing a whole lot of growing. I run a flood and drain as well so there is no 3rd week of no nutes. But basically you are flushing if your not adding nutes on the 3rd week as you say, this is to flush excess nute from soil correct? Again its a highly debatable subject as you will see if you search the term. If you feel better by flushing then do it. But dont start to early IMO as your final take will surely suffer......myth.
only time you should actually flush is if you run into issues that you would need to flush soil/medium.
if you water correctly there is really no need to flush , since you cut back nutes in final week thats good enough...thats only if you follow a correct watering schedule. feed/ feed/ just water
