Planted 4 blue automazar three weeks ago but they have only grown 2 maybe 3 inches I don't know what I'm doing wrong? There planted in the coco coir compost under a 600w hps any help greatly appreciated

What size pots are you using? Have you been checking the ppm and pH? How often do you water? How far away is the light from the precious babies? :) Need more info dude if you want help!

the first couple weeks of growth are the slowest while the palnt establishes a root system, the bigger the container the longer it takes

So long as they look healthy, it's a good thing in my book! She's not stretching for light/energy to fuel the root growth.

The light is 2ft above the babies, had them in small pots but the roots started coming out the bottom so put them into 11L pots, checked the ph of the soil it's at 6.8 made a weak nute mix a few days ago was ph 5.8 watering every morning

I'll bet you planted the new seedlings into a big pot without using an intermediary size pot first. New seedlings ONLY grow roots when they first go into dirt. It is a defense mechanism so that the plant will grow a root system to support the plant. You won't see much aboveground action until the roots have found the inside of the pot. After the roots bottom out you will see action aboveground. That's why we OG's transplant more than once. I put new seedlings into a solo cup for 7-10 days until the sprout is twice as tall as the cup is wide, about 5-6 inches. Then they go into a 7 x 7 inch pot for a couple more weeks. Then I TP again into 2-3 gallon pots that they will finish in. By TP'ing early and often you don't have to sit there for weeks while a plant being kept for 3 months grows enough roots for a year life span. A big waste of time. BigSteve.

I have to agree with BigSteve. What I have learnt is that making sure you plant has enough room to allow good root growth is just as important as making sure it doesn't have too much room for root growth. BigSteve is right. Start out in a small solo cup then try something double it's size when your plant has out grown and double up again for a third and final time. You have your HPS light too far away. You want it to be about 1m away from your plants (sorry don't deal in feet here) and do not water them everyday! You are over watering them. They only need watering every few days. Gives the roots a chance to stretch out and search for water a little bit before you supply it to them again. :) try and make sure the pH says between 6.5 and 7 and as a newbie you should check the run off water to see how much the pH of the soil has changed if at all. :) If you are using a weak nute mix only use it once a weak and make it very slightly stronger every week to build it up
