hi gus just wondering if any1 no's wot wrong wit my babys! they in the second week in veg room its hydro growing in clay pepples please any info wouldbe a great help guys dont wanna lose my babys so please please help me!!

also how far away should the light be i using 3 600s if that helps!

inverse square laws says 1 foot from a single point of light that it drops to 25% full lumens there...so a 1k at 1 foot away is now only a 500 watt light, but in hoods we do get about 24 inch for a 1k. a 600 is about 22 inch and 400 is about 18 inch. so a 600 is what i run and keep about 8 to 12 inches away for best use of the light. if its to hot then you need bigger better fans.


check the ph to fix it. i havent seen anything sayin what ph your at, your food should be about 600 to 800ppm id guess for that size of a plant

sorry mate but i very new to this but am so keen to learn i dont understand wot ppm is! my ph is 5.9 i no this by using a ph pen! is there other things i need to check my feed before i add it then! please list if there is cause wanna get things the best i can many thanks for your help! G

It sounds as though you really don't have the basics down yet. Rather than asking for help each stage of the way, you should probably read some growing guides. If you do not and you rely on others to always answer your questions, you'll be frustrated all the time in this hobby.

The leathery twisted look of the leaves also hints at overfeeding......less fert./ less water on time/ and do you have an airstone? Maybe dump some h202 in the res. Just some ideas

will get a air stone asap wot would u say water on time should be!!

dont need to worry bout the ppm pen. something for down the road. need to keep checking the pH in the rez a couple times a day till you catch on. keep it at 5.5. as they eat the ph will rise. meaning there is less food in the water.
being a new guy jumping right to hydro isnt the best choice...may want to look at a simple soiless like pro mix hp to learn on then move up.
the look of over feeding is same as what i said for ph..over feeding will drop ph so it cant eat the food,. but usualy comes with tip burns, the plant can only uptake what it needs for foods sdo if its to hot of food then it builds up and drops the ph in the rez and this is what causes the burns...and this twisting leaf deal.

ok so after a month or so things are really starting to pick up again! After so much research i realised wot a complete dumb arse i was but finaly im a starting to understand alot more about the beautiful plant that makes so many off are lives easy to live/enjoy! thanks to all the guys that helped ill add some pics 2morrow 2 show wer i at now! cheers G
