Please read i have some questions about dwc

DWC is Very simple to grow in. Id argue its more simple to grow in than dirt as long as u have a PH and a PPM meter and ill add its alot more clean and set-up is simple. Theres plenty of threads about building a DWC bucket or tub or cooler or whatever u want to grow in. Check out the DWC GROW-torial its pretty much step by step. Check out the DWC bible all ur questions about PH should be answered. If u feel like it read and reread the DWC club thread although it gets rediculous at times u will find all the threads and discussions u need on pretty any problem u may have with ur system. Growers make hydro hard. DWC is very simple. Set it up. Check ur ph once a day and maintain it at 5.8 as well as u can. the rest is history. Do this the simplicities and jungles ur gonna be growing are gonna be scary and overwhelming at times in no time at all. Res changes are simple with a cheap submersible pump and a half inch hose attachment. Drop it in pump it out DONE. Get urself an attachement from homedepot and u can even run tap water from ur faucet with enuff hose to reach ur reservoirs to replenish the water. Im a very lazy person and grower once set-up and fireing on every level dwc gets boring. Becomes more like a race to tame ur plants from growing out of ur flower pad than anything else. Forget about cleaning up messes. Ur Prolly not gonna have enuff time to trim bud. Hope this helps. Peace

My AC keeps my room at 75 and so my buckets are usually between 67 and 72. I just have the regular black buckets, 3 gal for veg, 5 gal for flower. I took the shiny silver tape and taped off the tops so they reflect the heat rather than the black lids absorbing it.

What containers are you in LightGuy?

As far as outside tmeps, at night its' like 50's here and 80s in the daytime. I'm in Fort Collins, so front range! I found the same thing to be true though when I lived in the mountains. Only up there I had to use a heater to keep stuff warm enough when the lights were off

ph 5.8 but dont worry if it moves up and down as long as its stays between about 5.2 and 6.5 you will be ok, it needs to move up and down so the plants can absorb different nutes at different ph, for example if ph stays low for a long time you may get magnesium defficiency too high for too long will lock out other nutes, you want ph to swing up and down, keep ppms of nutes lowish say 500 at first and slowley increase as the plant goes into bud.

Yeah it is starting to get down in the low 60's at night but still hitting 95 during the day so it doesn;t cool down till later... i live in Glen Eagle for a short time and worked in colorado springs so i am very familiar and jealous of your climate... i am in the Mojave Desert...lol But i like that idea of the tape and might have to try something like that even if i do get a chiller... I am in the black 5g buckets as well but with everything linked together i have about 15g running in the entire system at any given time.. i am thinking perhaps the pump could be adding temp to the water with it running 24hrs, not sure.... Yeah i would kill to live in Summit County man.. i would rather run a heater any day over the a/c and plus i could drive over and hit Breckenridge or Keystone to pass the time...lol

KIR.. go on ebay bro... i got one of those yellow ones from like hong kong for $13.75 with free shipping and that thing has lasted me awhile and is reliable.. also get yourself a ppm meter on there.. i got the TDS-3 for $22.50 with free shipping... thing works great!

I bought two different Hana meters from Ebay. PPM (blue) & PH (Red) they are basic and work pretty good.

what kind of solution should i get to lower or raise my ph?

Ph up and ph down

Typically tap water is higher in PH than what you want to use in DWC so most only use PH Down. I personally only have a bottle of PH down no need for up

do you let your water set over night to ensure the chemicals are gone?

KIR yeah that one would work, but is it free shipping.. i would recommend getting the HM TDS-3 though on there... should be around $22.50 with free shipping and ships from a location within the US and the company is in the US... just sayin if you do order the ones from china expect at least 2 weeks before you see it.... I got the TDS-3 i ordered in like 4 days. Totally up to you on how much you want to spend and how long you want ot wait but that one would work fine...
