PlZ HELP: Keep or Toss?

Couple weeks old, topped twice before first node (bad idea) 5" tall.. Need suggestions, i was only experimenting on this one plant so it's all i have. Looks like it has potential but ive been told it has male characteristics.

youve been told it has male characteristics? by who? and what was their reasoning? it doesnt look like its been through a 12/12 cycle to even show sex let a lone have "characteristics" of it. you can for sure make that plant survive, you just need to properly let it grow I would start by changing your clear pot to something that is not seethrough as roots like dark, and checking your pH , watering, and light

Friend said it was growing too tall and fast idk i had a different opinion so i figured id ask around. Yea its in a 2 liter mt dew bottle, if i keep it im transplanting to 3gal

I dont have timers and i have my son so i cant always stay up as late as id like to so its on a 15/9 light cycle. I know it needs more but hey thats all i can do for now. I havent seen any signs of flowering but there is leaf forming at nodes but i think it might be branching?

its growing too tall probably because you have bad lighting, or due to your mount dew bottle "container" which is causing ligh exposure to the roots which is bad, I am positive you have 1$ go get a proper pot please. ,
why a 15/9 cycle? I've never even herd of a 15/9 cycle . I think you REALLY REALLY need to read up on growing marijuana .
You need to be on 24/0 , 18/6 or [12/12 whenever you wanna switch to flowering].

Generally you veg growth for 4-6 weeks, than you can switch to 12/12 (if doing indoor) to switch it into flowering mode, after about 7 days of flowering you will start to see signs of sex, whoever told you that it was growing too fast and too tall and that the plant is male because of it , doesnt know anything about growing , and you should take their advice with a grain of salt, and back it up with further reading.

what type of lights are you using , what is your pH? How often are you watering, and what is your humidity like?,

Use the sun till it goes down which is only 13 hour days as of now. I put it out at 8AM bring it in around 9 and put it under this flourescent light that i have in the garage for another couple hours and 11pm seems to be the time my son sleeps and so do I. Sometimes i stay up longer but i dont want to take a chance of confusing the plant. I water whenever soils dry and i check it every other day. Im in Southern Michigan. I had it in the bottle because it was easy to transport and i didnt intend on it getting over a foot and a half. I also heard the green on the bottle would protect the roots. I know it needs more light like i said it'd be 18/6 if i had my way but i had to work with what ive got.

If i could id have a MH and grow a few at a time. And a cfl for seed and veg. 24/0 seed, 18/6 veg, 11-13 to 12/12 flower. Ive grown a couple times im just limited right now and again this topped plant is an experiment, ive never grown that way so im just curious =) i appreciate your help

I guess you could call it a "ghetto" grow lol i'd like for it to live and continue growing but if not then im not going to be completely devastated. Im trying to do the bare minimum for it to be healthy and grow some personal. Experiment in the process

You can grab a timer for under ten bucks at almost any online store like amazon or ebay, and you can get them at the 99 cents sotre or evne PEtland/petco or somethign but the pet stores are more expensive. itll def help esp since cannabis is supposed to be light sensitive.

i do bare minimum and im quite frugal myself but you need to change the pot , i would just keep it outside and let the sun do its thing , just keep it as an outdoor grow and it will go into flower itself once the days get shorter less worry for you, and easier on your sleep sech,

I think he can get away with the 15:9 (People think that plants are much more vulnerable to lighting leaks and irregular cycles than most actually are, I've experimented lots and hermaphroditism so far seems more likely in most cases to result from poor genetics or simple nutrient/pH stesses) and even the seethrough pot should be ok for now, only the very edge is exposed to light/overly damp/greenhouse-like/in extreme cases rot promoting conditions, yield isn't all and a large pot of any kind will at least not limit plant growth to far...

But the biggest problem with a pot made from a bottle like that is the poor drainage! As a minimum make some holes in the bottom and put something under it for the water to drain into.

even a layer of perlite at the bottom would stop the drowing anoxic swamp that'll turn into :-S

But for all the reasons... change the pot.

The plant could well be fine, you need preflowers to know for sure.

It is true that males are often the strongest seedlings while females are slower growing, but that doesn't mean good growers are always male, they can also be female, and growth rate depends on environment and genetics... unless your friend grows hundreds of very closely related plants and gave you that seed... it's unlikelty he can tell from growth speed what gender it is more accurately than guessing or flipping a coin.

grow it out dude. nothing to lose. growing fast is a male characteristic....in a human lol
female plants can grow mad fast too. you dont know til u start 12/12'n her/him. it looks
fine man...lil unhealthy. take sunnis steps to recover and itll be golden. then later on post a pic of the
sex organs and RIU can help ya identify what sex it is....when it actually has characteristics lol.

Alright ill prob keep it, as long as it seems healthy enough to pull through. In that case ill be switching the pot soon, ;) thx for the advice
