Police kill dog for no reason

you guys are idiots. you know a dog bite can crush a human hand? that's right. the teeth can pierce the skin and absolutely tear up shit.... then there's the chance of infection leading to permanent nerve damage and lifelong pain. .... that cop had every right to kill that dog once it was out and about acting a fool... and BTW that's not a police dog, police dogs are trained to stop attacking and only the best of the best of the best are chosen for police work...a bit crazy when you think of who they work with :S....

the rest go to rich peoples houses to act as security dogs or something....

what the cops did fuck up was how they approached the guy. they were there for something completely different, and taping a cop isn't illegal, no matter how much they dislike it..... feel bad for the dog too, it wasn't a quick kill looks like he wimpered a bit....
Seems like you are the idiot

No one is saying that if a rouge dog is going to attack you that you shouldn't be able to defend yourself.

In this instance however, as soon as the dog jumped out of the windows, the 4, I repeat, 4 officers, should have instantly known that the end result was going to be the dog defending its owner. It is blatantly obvious, and you'd have to be a moron to think otherwise. When the dog jumped out the window, it wasn't to mock charge and then whimper back. Consequently, as soon as the dog got through the windows, the 4 officers should have begun planning for how to mitigate the situation without destroying a life. It would have been insanely easy, including just letting the man put his dog back in the car, this time with the windows up. Furthermore, the dog gave the officers ample time to take action in a way that would have resulted in no loss of life. Did you even watch the video? The fact that you side with the first course of action to be killing the animal proves that you are a weak and stupid individual, just as the officers are. Even if there was no other choice than to shoot the animal, AND you had minimal time, you could very easily only shoot once, and wait for the animal to make the next move. The fact that they shot 4 times again goes to show abuse and brutality.

There are single individuals everyday that fend off big dogs without shooting them. I'm curious to know why you think it should be acceptable for individuals whose duty it is to PROTECT and serve, should be able to take a life as the first course of action.

And by the way, I don't know what you mean by the dog was "out and about acting a fool", but you surely can't be mistaking the dog protecting its owner for that. That's a primal, engrained, natural instinct that nearly every dog possesses. What is most ironic is, that the only living thing protecting and serving in that situation, was the dog.
