Politically Correct

So when is Obama gonna make it all better?
He doesnt have much time left.
Anyone hoping for Obama to make anything better for the American people are going to be disappointed

He's been better on the social issues, like gay rights, than his conservative counterparts, but imo, the social issues will solve themselves with time, after all, the civil rights act wasn't enacted because of LBJ, arguably it happened because of Martin Luther King, a civilian preacher who rallied the people around him and his cause. The people knew it was right, and that's why it passed.

What he fails at, at every goddamn turn, are the fiscal and financial issues. It's pretty obvious at this point he acts in accordance with the people that purchased him. His wall st. donors get their monies worth, paid back in droves. A small contribution here, a medium sized one there, that's how politics works, Obama is a lifelong politician, why would anyone expect he'd be any different?

I know people always say "lawyers are bloodsuckers", but for politicians, the generalization seems to ring pretty true. It's rare to find a politician who isn't in somebodies pocket, and when you do, it's normally a jr. congressman from noname Kentucky who'll be out next term anyway because he didn't take the offers.. His political opponent will, though, so all the donations next election will go to him unsurprisingly..

Successful politicians are all lawyers anymore.
It's sad because it's all about the pay offs and the rip offs.

There should be a law about political contributions, I fully agree.

I still see you have my sig.
I see on my LOCAL news everyday.
Guess it's not like that where you live.

I had misunderstood the interpretation of the rulings of those 4 supreme court cases in the "Money & Politics" thread, it's not about political contributions that's the issue, those cases don't touch on that, it's about political campaign spending. That's where we need to set limits, spending, not "donating". Candidates should not be allowed to spend more money pumping up their political campaigns than their opponents, in 95% of American elections, the candidate who spends more wins, fact.

All criminals are not black or hispanic. It would be like some other country saying "all Americans are criminals" because we make up a 1/4 of the prison population. I'm not a criminal, many of us aren't. That's a vague, and unfair generalization of Americans from an ignorant perspective. That's why I don't personally think you're racist, per se, I just think you're ignorant of some of the facts that would correct your opinion, had you heard, understood and acknowledged them.

There should be a limit on campaign spending as well as caps on political contributions once they are in office.
They still take money from under the table and always will unless we investigate them like they investigate us.

Not all criminals are black or hispanic.
They arrest some whites here too, just the majority I see on tv are black or hispanic.
Everyday, every week, every month every year.

And how do you think we got to where we are today?

Because of people like you

Conservative policies have fucked over the middle class since the 70's. Trickle down economics is a catastrophic failure. Croney capitalism runs rampant and both parties are to blame, though people like you can only see half of the picture which is a big part of the problem. People like you exist on the left and the right, but only see the evils committed by the competition.

Obama is a shill for corporate America, has been since day 1 and these latest FCC issues highlights it. All of American politics, the entire game, from the congressmen and senators to the supreme court to the president himself, it's all bullshit today. Perhaps it was once meant to actually be something for the people, but today, and long since I've been alive, it's a dog and pony show meant to create the illusion average Americans have a voice in government and about what goes on. This study proves otherwise;

There are limits on campaign contributions

What you see on TV is what will best garner ratings, regardless of the truth - that can be said about just about anything

What I see most are drug users/dealers in jail/prison. It just so happens that police, demonstrably, unfairly profile minorities (stop and frisk, Arizona..), dismissing that is inconsistent with an honest investigation

Nobody who posts on this website are in the club, probably the only thing all of us have in common..

Local news around here is aired by 4 stations.
The same criminals on each station.
Same old stupid crimes, domestic violence, robbery, murder, drug sales.....
Maybe every 3 weeks whites hold up a bank or armored car.

These local stations aren't about ratings other than their sponsors programs.
ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX (not cable).
I watch all 4 at different times.

Same old stories.

Represent the 99% Occupy!
"youre wrong" if you think that sitting in a park all summer without a job is gonna change your situation

that's fucking retarded why was the largest increase of millionaires ever under Regan? you really think that policies have gotten more conservative after the 70's as compared to before that? fucking ignorant to the reality of the situation. If you want to make money go to college that is how the game is set up now or learn a trade and how to run a crew(then you'll realize why people are paid low wages) or work 80 hours a week. pretty much if you don't go to college(science, engineering, medical, or law) you are most likely gonna end up with the short side of the stick.
